The Way You're Lovin' Me Now: Chapter Five: Midnight Spotlight

Cole's P. O. V

I drove through the back gate of Luke's farm and pulled down around the pond to find that the party had already started. Damn I'm always late to these things.. The music was loud, there were dirt bikes and four wheelers riding up and down the paths, people were dancing, playing drinking games, playing cornhole and Luke had started the grill. I parked in an open space and reached over to grab my phone. I turned it off, shoved it into the dashboard and opened my door to jump out. First I unloaded the coolers of ice, packed them with the bottles of Fireball and carried them over to sit by what looked to be the designated food and drink table. When that was finished I handed Black Mike the jug of gas and walked up the trail that lead to the house. I had to piss but there was no way I would make it all of the way up there so I stopped at the edge of the woods. I had unzipped my jeans and freed myself from my boxers when I heard foot steps coming my way but there was no stopping once it started. I had drank way too much before getting here.

" Is someone there?" I heard a female voice ask and all at once there was a bright light shining in my face from her cellphones flashlight. Shit! I quickly shook myself off and tucked myself back in place before zipping up.

" Oh shit! Sorry! " I heard her say pulling her flashlight in the opposite direction before walking down the trail toward the party as fast as her legs would carry her..

Kilye's P. O. V

I was embarrassed as hell after shining my light on the man pissing at the edge of the woods. I didn't get a good look at his face so maybe he didn't seen mine either.. I thought as I walked back to the field and straight over to the drink table. I poured myself a solo cup half full of Fireball from the new coolers that had been placed there while I was up at the house using the bathroom. It only took a few gulps to take it all down and I was reaching into the other cooler for another beer when I heard Caroline.

" Hey Kilye, this is Luke's friend Cole." She said introducing the very same guy I had just spotlighted. I knew it was him because I recognized the shirt he had on. Oh damn! I had just caught Cole Swindell with his pants down so to speak. Damn it Kilye nice first impression.. I thought as he reached out to shake my hand. At first I looked at his hand and then glanced down at his now zipped jeans before jerking my eyes back to his. Shit! He caught me. I watched him smirk at my wondering glance and then a blush creep up over his neck and across his cheeks when he realized why I hadn't reached out to take his hand.

"Excuse me I'll be right back." He said and rushed over to a table to grab some hand wipes and hand sanitizer.

" What was that all about?" Caroline asked and it was my turn to blush.

" Um.. He and I kind of met up on the trail a frew minutes ago. " I said.. No way in hell I'm giving details.. After cleaning his hands and using the sanitizer he came back over to offer me his hand again to shake.

"Let's try that again.. Hi Kilye I'm Cole Swindell." He said and smiled a nervous grin.

" Hello Cole, it's nice to meet you. I'm a big fan of your music. " I smiled back finally taking his out stretched hand.

" Is that right? Have you gotten a chance to make it out to a show?" He asked.

"Yeah, actually I have.. I've been to two farm tours, Aaron's Lakewood Amphitheater where you came out to sing Chillin It, Knoxville for the Dirt Road Diaries tour, your Parking Lot Party behind the Peachtree Tavern in Atlanta and the Christmas show at Wild Bill's in Duluth Georgia." I confessed.. Damn he is more handsome up close and he smells so good. It's funny how I had never found red or reddish haired men attractive at all until I set eyes on him at farm tour.
