Kilye's P. O. V
I was standing close to Cole looking at pictures on his phone of his tour bus, his truck, his family, and his crew asleep in funny positions on the bus when Luke started walking our way followed by his lovely wife. They stopped along the way to talk to some of their other guests before stopping in front of us.
" Hey bud, I have an early morning comin'. Bo has a doctor's appointment at nine thirty and when I leave form there I'm meeting Dallas to clear a few things for the Pickers to be able to play a few Farm Tour shows in August. So we'd best be headed to bed." Luke told Cole and I wondered how I would be getting back to my truck in town.
" Alright, thanks for another great night on the farm guys. Are the boys staying behind to wrap things up?" Cole asked him.
" Yeah Hunter and Monaco said they'd take care of it this time." He answered and smiled over at me.
" It was nice meetin' ya Kilye. Don't be a stranger darlin. You have Caroline's number and she has yours so next time we all get together we'll give you a call to see if you're free to join us. I hope you enjoyed yourself. It doesn't usually end this early but hell life happens right?" He smiled and I reached out a hand to shake his. He smiled and shook his head no reaching out to hug me instead. Wow I had just checked off a few of the items on my bucket list and all in one night. I partied with Luke and Caroline Bryan, formally met them, Florida Georgia Line and I was standing shoulder to shoulder with Cole Swindell.
" Hey Cole, could you do us a favor and give our new friend here a ride back into town to pick up her truck? She parked beside the Bridgestone and rode out with us. " Caroline asked trying not to grin at me.
" Sure I'd love to. Are you ok with that Kilye?" He agreed to her request and looked over to me for approval.
" Sure I'm fine with that. Thank you. And thank you guys for inviting me out tonight. I've had a wonderful time. " I smiled first at Cole and turned my attention in the direction of our hosts.
" Good I look forward to hearing from you again soon Kilye. Good night. " Caroline smiled and reached out to pull me into a hug before following Luke over to a four wheeler.
I'm not sure why but the thought of being alone with Cole in his truck caused the butterflies in my stomach that I had thought were long dead to kick back to life. I mean I do have trust issues with men but I'm not blind or immune to his smooth southern accent, his sparkling eyes that seemed to change from light green to a golden brown and back to Hazel, his handsome smile, his southern charm or the smell of his cologne.. Stop it Kilye! I mentally yelled and looked shyly up at him when I realized that he was taking to me.
" If you are ready we should probably head out because when Luke is gone this bunch goes crazy and I don't want to be in the middle of it when something goes wrong. " He said and I smiled.
" Yeah I should probably go. Just let me say goodbye to Bcole, Brian, Tyler and Hunter. " I told him and noticed that he followed as I walked away.
" Hey guys Kilye and I are going to go ahead and get out of here. " He yelled over at Brian and Bcole.
"See ya Kilye, I hope to see ya around again soon." Bcole told me and came over to gave me a hug followed by her husband Brian.
" You two be good alright.. Or at least be damn good at it. " Brian said winking as he laughed.
" Oh I'm always good at whatever I do. " I teased.
" I bet you are. " Cole whispered and I felt a blush threatening to creep up my neck. "Hey Thubb, we're out of here man. " He told Tyler as he walked our way.
" Hey y'all be good now. It was good meetin' ya Kilye. " He smiled and shook my hand.
" It was good meeting you too. " I told him and made my way over to Hunter who was arguing with Black Mike.
" Excuse me guys, I'm leaving and just wanted to say goodbye and thank you. " I cut in.
" Well it was very nice meeting you tonight Kilye and thank you for the dance. " Hunter smiled and reached out for a hug. Wow they were so friendly.. I thought to myself.
" Well I see you beat us to it Cole. You two enjoy your night guys. " Black Mike winked at Cole and laughed. God they are all assuming that Cole and I are hooking up.. Although he is very attractive and it had been a while for me it was not my plan to hook up with anyone.
" Good night guys. I'll see y'all soon enough." Cole told them and placed his hand on the small of my back as he walked me to his truck.
The nerves were kicking in full force when we reached it and he explained that his passenger seat was full of plastic containers which held his personal belongings from the bus and that I would have to climb in on his side to sit in the middle. Oh shit.. I would be close to him for the whole ride. I swallowed hard and waited for him to open the door before climbing in. "mm damn" I heard him mumble and my breath caught in My throat when I realized he was checking out my ass.. After sat down in the seat I scooted as close to the containers as I could but that didn't help and I bit my lip when I felt him take his seat beside me. He was close enough that I could almost feel his jean covered leg that had a paper thin space between it and my bare skin.
