I was reading a book that hadn't been updated in 10 months then I realized how everyone who was waiting for this update was feeling. So anyway I forced myself to sit down and get to writing.

It's not the best and it is scuffed but finally! An update

That is all.

"What's this?" The Dragon said once he was handed a red flash drive. It was a few minutes past seven in the evening when someone knocked on K's door. The CG leader was sitting at his office desk looking through some papers concerning people who owed him when he was interrupted. The old man was exhausted after spending the entire week preoccupied with personal affairs. Luckily the boys didn't start a war or any conflict while he was away, which meant the only thing he had to deal with was his interrogation with Sam Baas.

The Chief of Police had given the man a heads up that he would be escorted to the police station soon for questioning related to the murder of Jean Paul's brother.

"It's just a formality. I know you're innocent but I have to interrogate all the suspects." Baas relayed earlier. The only reason K was even willing to comply was because he knew they had nothing on him. How would they? He was not involved; at least not directly. It also helped that he had a solid alibi. Chang silently studied the woman in front of her.

"Open it." He raised one dark eyebrow at her. He wondered what it was about. K had been keeping an eye on each of his gang members, including some associates, but that didn't mean he spied on them every second. Still, he knew for a fact that she hadn't completed what she said she would do. April was given free reign to deal with the Paul siblings how she pleased and he was impressed with how discreetly she went about it but she hadn't delivered what she promised.

The woman stood in front of his desk (instead of sitting on the chair next to her), which meant that she didn't have any intention to hang around. K knew the woman was busy but he had missed her. Judging from her makeup free face and her outfit he figured she was done for the day but she clearly had no plans on staying in his home.

"Are you giving your old man a visit? Or are you going somewhere sweetheart?" He knew the answer already but he was fishing for information on her plans. After the night he made her cry from his meddling he promised himself to respect her boundaries and not baby her; unfortunately that meant that he was often kept out of the loop about her life.

She had a habit of not sharing anything of significance unprompted. Chang was sad that the woman had yet to share her stories about her time working as a doctor, or her massive debt from medical bills and student loans, or that she was once married. April didn't even know that K had known all this information since before she met the rest of the gang. This was one of the reasons why background checks were so important.

The knowledge that the girl had been disowned by her family before she could turn 18 made it easier for him, and some of the boys, to spoil her with gifts and money. K may have known a lot of things about the young woman that stood in front of him but the one thing he couldn't fathom was her emotions. The Siren, a fitting name for the ethereal girl, was very difficult to read and her reactions were almost as unpredictable as Jean Paul. As unpredictable as Ramee. He briefly wondered if April knew that her mentor was in jail. He wondered if she knew that he knew that Ramee had been in jail.

"No I'm passing through." Her voice remained pleasant. She walked around to give the man a hug and a pat on the head. Mr. Kebun Chang. Gang leader, receiver of head pats. It was funny.
"Open the drive. Maybe you will change your mind about Ray getting her chain."

Before he could ask for more details the redhead disappeared in a blur of red with her ringing phone in her hand. Typical April.

The dragon inspected the writing on the drive she gave him. The small and neat handwriting didn't really give him much information.
