The final cut of our documentary lay finished on the table, the product of countless hours of editing, interviewing, and capturing the essence of student life and mental health. The once chaotic clutter of footage and paperwork had been neatly organized, and the sense of accomplishment was palpable. It was a bittersweet moment, knowing that our collaborative journey was coming to an end.
Indigo and I sat across from each other in the now-quiet library, the familiar hum of the fluorescent lights our only company. The screens were dark, and the files were closed. For a while, neither of us spoke, the silence stretching between us as we both took in the gravity of what we had achieved.
"So," I began, breaking the silence and glancing over at Indigo. "It's really done. The documentary is complete."
Indigo nodded, a small, satisfied smile playing at her lips. "Yeah, it is. It feels surreal, doesn't it?"
I leaned back in my chair, trying to find the right words. "You know, Indigo, this whole project has meant a lot to me. Not just because of the work we did, but because of the time we spent together. I feel like we've come a long way."
She met my gaze, her eyes thoughtful. "I know what you mean. It's been a journey, hasn't it?"
I nodded, taking a deep breath. "I've been thinking a lot lately. About us, about what this project has meant for our friendship. I was wondering if we could talk about... closure."
Indigo looked at me with a mix of curiosity and hesitation. "Closure? What do you mean?"
I ran a hand through my hair, trying to articulate my thoughts clearly. "Well, it's just that we've shared so much through this documentary. We've worked closely, supported each other, and built something meaningful. I guess I'm wondering where we stand now that it's all over. I don't want to lose what we have."
She seemed to ponder my words, her expression growing more contemplative. "I've been thinking about that too. This project has been such a big part of our lives, and now that it's finished, it's hard to know what comes next."
