She was in Sokovia. The Scarlet Witch, confined to the same conditions as I was here in New York. I was found three years ago by a man called Strucker. He was interested in my power, my Chaos Magic. He told me he was going to help me. Instead, I've been locked in this cell, with only one small window to get air and sun from. When I'm not being experimented on, I'm meditating, reflecting on how I got here.
It began when my mother pushed me through that portal. She meant well, considering that my world was literally ending, but after that, I have known no peace. When my mother sent me here, she told me to find the Scarlet Witch, my only semblance of family left.
"She is your sister Carlos. Not by blood, but by Magic. You and she, plus all the others are connected. You are the Violet Witch, and I believe in you."
That was the last thing she said to me. My world was destroyed soon after. I felt it, my former home crumbling to nothingness.
My eyes open, hearing a commotion from somewhere in the facility. The clanging grew closer and I could hear the guards screaming, and then growing silent as thuds hit the ground. Would this be my salvation? Or just another experiment?
A dent forms on the door outside of my cell, along with a large clang. Another dent forms, and I quickly form a forcefield around myself, ignoring the pain from the shock collar. A third clang against the door is what finally knocks it off of its hinges, sending it flying into the bars of my cell. I flinch, my forcefield shattering as the pain becomes too great. A large man, clad in blue steps in as I hurriedly scamper behind my bed.
He scans the room, stepping closer to my cell. I peer up at him, terrified.
"Hey, kid, you're safe now." the man says quietly, effortlessly bending the bars. "That man that had you trapped here is gone. He left you behind, and we're gonna help you okay?"
He crouches down and extends a hand towards me. He's smiling, and I decide to trust him. I get up and slowly walk over to him.
"My name is Steve. What's yours?" he asks as I take his hand.
"C-Carlos." I stutter out.
"Alright Carlos, we're gonna get you out of here, okay? Do you mind if I take that off of your neck?"
I shake my head, staying still as he snaps it off of me, crushing it in his hand. As it breaks, it sends one last shock into me. I begin to feel sleepy, a sharp headache flaring up. I wince as my eyes flutter closed as my body starts to droop. I can feel Steve scooping me up before the world goes dark.

When I wake up, I can feel a soft bed beneath me and light sheets covering me. I open my eyes and slowly sit up. There is no one else in the room, but when I sit up, a soft beeping sounds from a machine near my bed. The door opens and a doctor steps in. She's a very pretty Asian woman, who smiles at me warmly as she walks up to me.
"Hello Carlos, my name is Doctor Cho. How are you feeling?" she asks, putting a hand on my shoulder.
"Hi. I think that I'm okay." I say as I look up at her.
"That's good! I'm going to do a few things then you'll be good to get out of here."
"Thank you." I reply. She starts running tests like blood pressure and temperature, things like that, all while making conversation.
"The Avengers are in Sokovia right now. Or, at least they were, they should be arriving back soon."
"What are they doing in Sokovia?" I ask.
"I wasn't made privy to that information," she replies. "Alright, you're good to go. I'll page Commander Hill to come and get you. She wants to talk. In the meantime, these are for you." She places some clothes next to me on the bed.
She smiles before stepping out of the room. I put the clothes on, a pair of thin, loose, black sweatpants, and a large black t-shirt. I put the hospital gown on the bed and look around the room. I see my old clothes in a bag on a counter. I stand up and grab them, taking them back with me to the bed.
Another woman walks into the room after a few minutes.
"Hello Carlos, My name is Commander Maria Hill." sh extends her hand and I shake it.
"Hello."
"I wish that we had more time for a proper introduction, but there's a situation. We need you. I saw on your file that you can heal people?"
I nod my head.
"Good."
She jerks her head to the side and I take this as a prompt to get up, grabbing th ebag with my old clothes. She takes me through a complicated series of hallways before opening up into a large room with many stairs.
"Where is he?" Commander Hill asks someone I don't know. The man simply points to what looks to be a lab, and she nods, walking to it. She places her arm on my shoulder, leading me to the room, where a man is laying on a table, a strange apparatus over him. Dr. Cho is in the room, looking over him.
"You sure, he's gonna be okay?" the redheaded woman sitting beside him asks. "Pretending I need this guy really brings the team together.
"Oh, he'll be okay alright. In fact, I expect him to make a full recovery." Commander Hill says as we enter the room.
The redhead woman nods to her.
"Who's the kid?" she asks, looking at me. I recognize her, my eyes widened in surprise.
"This is Carlos, he's here to help." she gestures to me. I wave shyly.
Dr.Cho waves back at me before turning her attention to the man on the table.
"If you brought him to my lab, the Regeneration Cradle could do this in twenty minutes." she looks over at the two others, then at Commander Hill.
"That won't be necessary Doctor Cho. Carlos has it covered. Don't you Carlos?" she asks, looking down at me. I nod and walk forward, looking at the man.
"You're Clint Barton," I remark, recognizing him. "The one with the bow and arrows."
He nods and looks up at the Doctor, bewildered. I look up at her too.
"Could you take this apparatus off of him? It won't be necessary anymore."
She blinks before speaking up.
"Why wont it be necessary?"
"Because I'm going to heal him," I state bluntly.
"Heal him?" the other Doctor asks.
"Just listen to the kid." Commander Hill says, shooting me a supportive look.
"Okay..." Doctor Cho says, leaning over and turning off her machine. It collapses into itself, becoming just a table.
I breathe in and close my eyes, lifting my arms to Clint Barton's side, where his injury is.
"My hands are cold. Sorry." I say to him, before focusing my magic and placing them on his injury. I open my eyes and see my purple glow covering his body. I focus and his injury begins to close up, new skin forming over it. After about a minute, I take my hands off him and step back. His injury is gone.
"Holy shit." Barton exclaims.
"Language!" I new voice says. A voice I recognize. I look over and see Tony Stark standing in the doorway, holding a cup holder with five beverages in his hand. He places it down and walks up to me. I saw him on the tv when I first came to this world.
"That was impressive, kid." he smiles and pats my shoulder. He looks up at Commander Hill. "I take it this is the kid from the files you sent me?"
"This is him. Carlos, I'd like you to meet two-thirds of the Avengers. Tony Stark, Natasha Romanoff, Clint Barton, and Dr. Bruce Banner. And our friend, Dr. Helen Cho.
"Iron Man, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and The Hulk." I say, looking up at all of them.
"How did he do that?" Natasha asks.
"He can answer that in a few minutes. Get Rogers and Thor, I'm calling a meeting."
