At last the day Emily was least looking forward to this week was here. Room cleaning.

If it wasn't for the smoked out cigarettes and alcohol bottles all over the furniture or the pungent odor of weed in the room, these days would be rather enjoyable.

Emily rolled her basket full of dirty towels and cleaning supplies down the hall until she stopped in front of the door marked Room 9

She knocked on the door a couple of times, letting him know she was there to clean. It was awfully quiet until the sound of rummaging could be heard and the door sprung open.

"Oh, i'm sorry" He said, looking at the mess behind him, then back at Emily.

"Don't worry, that's what i'm here for anyways." He moved out of the door frame and let her in.

Emily grabbed new sheets, pillowcases, and blankets before heading into his room. "I'll just change the sheets and i'll be out of-" She stopped, looking at the bed.

Tons of maps and atlases sprawled around the mattress, backpack spilled on the floor, and blades on the nightstand was what she saw.

He stood there, scratching his head and then frantically throwing everything off the bed so Emily could clean and get out.

He didn't know whether to leave or stay, so he stood by the door watching her make the bed.

It seemed like she was there for hours. Emily piled the dirty sheets onto the basket and started to return to the laundry room.

"Sorry for startling whatever was going on in there." She said pointing at the mess on the floor. "It was nice meeting you!"

He just smiled and tossed the pillowcase Emily had left behind. "Tyler." He said, looking at her.

"Emily"

And with a smile and wave they parted ways.
