chapter 2

"Zhan, you have your own room, why do you always sleep in yibos room?"
His friend lay asked him.

They'd come to Zhan's home to study for the exam which was due the next day.

"Just sleep here yixing, stop complaining and putting your nose into my business " Zhan smacks lay's forehead and leaves.

He goes to the kitchen and warms a glass of milk then heads back to Yibos room.
He finds Yibo wide awake.

"You're waiting for me?" Zhan asks smiling.

"What took you so long Zhange? I'm sleepy..." Yibo pouted cutely.

"Sorry baby, you know that I had to settle my friend first, and we revised for long, I can't wait to pass this exam...."

"When you pass the exam, will you go away to highschool, can I come with you?" Yibo ask cutely.

"No Yibo, you can't come with me to highschool, you have to be as big as me first to do that...but don't worry, I'll not go far away, we'll just not be in the same school anymore." Zhan assured while running his fingers through yibos hair.

"I'll miss you Zhange, who will protect me from big bullies?"

"We'll talk about this when the time comes, we still have 3 months so let's forget it for now....come on, drink your milk first and sleep."

"No Zhange, Yibo does not like milk" the smaller one pouted.

"But Yibo will not grow as big and as strong as Zhan if he doesn't drink it." Zhan said shaking the milk a little bit.

Zhan took the milk and took a sip while observing yibos face.

"Hmph you meanie, drinking yibos milk so that he doesn't become big like you....one day,I'll be taller than you, just wait..." Just like normal children when you threaten to take their things, Yibo says and snatch the milk from Zhan then gulps it down in one go.

Zhan chuckles in amusement, his baby is so cute....he's glad that only he gets to experience this cuteness.

"Just so you know, you'll never be taller than me." Zhan whispers in yibos ear.

Yibo closes his ears with his hands and angrily lies his body on bed, away from Zhan ready to sleep.

"Come on baby...don't sulk, you know I was joking...." Zhan pulls yibos body towards himself, yibos back is against Zhan's body..
"Forgive Zhange"

Yibo rolls himself to face Zhan and nod, Zhan kiss his forehead and they lay there foreheads pressed together and arms holding each other before yibo drift  into the Dreamland.

Minutes after Yibo has slept however, Zhan is still wide awake. He keeps on thinking about his brother.

How would he cope without him at school, he still remembers when he found Yibo in school almost beaten up by some boys, they had pushed Yibo hard on the ground and we're ready to pounce on him if Zhan didn't arrive.

Zhan beat them up and even broke 2 of the boys arms, he ended up being suspended for a week which Yibo stayed with him, this two were like a puzzle and it's piece, none could stay without the other.

He wondered who would protect Yibo if he's gone, who would buy him lunch and who would accompany him to class, but Zhan didn't want anybody else to do that, only him was allowed, he felt an enormous possessiveness when it came to Yibo.

Zhan kept thinking of this but when he recalled that the next day would be an exam, he relaxed and dozed of, he didn't want his head to drop next day in the middle of the papers.

"Zhange, jiayo" Yibo wished Zhan when they got outside the class.

"Let's go to the park when you finish your exams...I want you to relax a little." Yibo said and Zhan nodded, the smaller one then hugged Zhan's waist to show his support, kissed his cheek and left right away.

Zhan was left by the door looking at Yibo adorably till he got to his seat, before he left, Yibo voiced a " good luck"  and Zhan left for his class ....

Everyone did the exam and was now outside discussing the questions.

"Question 2 was the easiest, the answer was two...how stupid of them..." Lay was saying this when Zhan passed him walking towards the exit.

"Hey Zhan, where are you going in such a hurry, stay a bit and celebrate with us...." Lay shouted.

"No, I have something to do"

"Oh...you're going out with your girlfriend " lay teased.

"No girlfriend, I'm going with my brother..." Zhan said and left quickly, he didn't want to keep Yibo waiting.

"These brothers behave worst than lovers..." Yixing said and also left, he need to check out on his crush, Jackson.

"Zhange, how was your exam? Is it difficult?" Yibo questions soon as he sees Zhan.

" No Yibo, it was not that difficult, I'm sure I will pass, just because of your encouragement" Zhan smiles at Yibo.

"Zhange, let's go for a walk today, we don't have to take the bus..."

"Ok... anything you want baby...do you want to go to the park later on? You can skate around" Yibo nodded.

They left the school together holding hands, Yibo had already climbed on his skateboard and skated slowly while Zhan walked.

Zhan didn't have his own board because he was not interested in that sport, no matter how he tried, he never got his balance right, so he always chose to walk alongside Yibo whenever he skated.

Zhan never liked many sports, he mostly went to boxing and taekwondo lessons which were offered in school or he would just play ping-pong with his friends.

Yibo was exactly opposite of Zhan, he would see a sport, admire it and the next day he would join it to try it out.

At such an age, Yibo had learnt how to dance, skate, swim, play some basket ball and ride a bicycle something even Zhan couldn't do.

But Zhan always supported him in everything he did.

"Zhange.... cotton candy, I want cotton candy" Yibo shouted enthusiastically while pointing to a standee of a man holding the sweet.

"Okay baby...I'll  go buy it, you just sit here" he said pointing to a bench and skipped away towards the booth after Yibo sat.

The que was long and it took about 20 minutes for Zhan to get back but when he came back, he was met with an empty bench and no Yibo.

Panic arose from his insides with the thought of Yibo disappearing.

"Yibo... Yibo....Yibo...where are you, no no no.... Yibo" he called several times but no once answered, he looked around but saw no one....

He slumped down and cried imagining the worst.....

"My baby"
