chapter 23 (mother)

Been on hiatus

It has now been two weeks since Zhan last saw yibo. He still couldn't believe that yibo just recognized him the other day although it was not that hard. He had tried finding the other for these two weeks without success.

It was like he'd disappeared from the face of the earth all over sudden.
Zhan would check on the cctv's in Yibo's villa from time to time but there was no sign of life there.

Zhan was growing desperate to see the other who had not even reported back to university up to now.

Zhan was in the university canteen eating lunch with lay as he explained his situation. No one would understand him better than his best friend.
He also left out the part where Yibo was basically a Mafia, for his safety.

"So, you're saying that Yiren is Yibo?" Lay asked in disbelief, after all he was still present when the said male had disappeared years ago leaving his best friend in sheer agony.

"So you've been fucking your brother all along?"

"Hey, I have not fucked him yet, and I  also found out that he was not really my blood brother which does not make sense..." Zhan defended himself.

"How did you find out?"

"I conducted a DNA test but it didn't match."

"Wow, you're really a detective, remind me not to be on your wrong side later. And why don't you ask your mother about it, she would be best to produce the answers." Lay suggested.

"Alaiwa, why had I not thought of that before. But you also know but you also know how mum is, she's too secretive."

"It doesn't hurt to try.."
They continued conversing for the rest of the lunch break until they finally had to go back to class.

"Bye, I'm heading off now" zhan waved at lay as he walked towards his car.
He decided to go to his mother's house to confront the situation.

When he reached home, he found it empty. He decided to cook a nice dinner to surprise his mother who came home 1 hour later only to be met by a delicious smell. She immediately put on a smile having guessed that her elder son decided to visit.

"Hey son, you came?" She asked as soon as she saw him sitting in the dining room.
"Hey Mum I missed you." he said cutely giving her a hug.

"I missed you too,  Come on I see you have cooked for us. I sure missed your food,I will just quickly wash up and come wait here."  Mum said as she rushed upstairs to her room.

In the meantime ,Zhan served the food in plates while waiting for his mother to finish up. They ate the food in a peaceful silence.

"Um...mom, I wanted to talk to you about something." Zhan said as soon as they finished eating.

"What is it son?" Mom asked.
Zhan took her hand and pulled her to the sitting room, sitting her and himself on the sofa.

"I didn't want to hide this from you mum, but I did and I'm sorry, I already found someone, I'm gay and I am in love with a man."
He let out breathing hard right after.

His mom remembered the photos and was at least glad that he finally decided to open up to her before she even asked.

"It's okay son, you can love whoever you want and I'll be okay with it, just make sure they are good and they treat you right. I don't want my son's heart broken." His mother said sweetly.
She had time to think about her son's preference and had come to terms with it overtime.

"They won't mother."

"Tell me how you met this mysterious man that you love." Mum asked
Zhan told her how he met Yibo leaving the fact that he was talking about Yibo, he did not need to explain now.

I also wanted to ask you something, please be honest with me, please."

"And when have I not been honest with you?"

"Mum, is Yibo really my brother?"
He asked a question that almost made her head spin.

"And why would you ask such a question? Of course he's your brother." She answered in a shaky voice.

"Please mother, don't lie to me anymore, I always knew that you had knowledge of where Yibo went, but you never told me.
You know I'm a detective, I can find out anything I want, no matter how you hide it." He said now standing up and raising his voice a little.

"I'm telling you the truth, why can't you believe me, Yibo is my son as much as you are." She just didn't want to loose Zhan too just like she lost Yibo.

"What if I tell you that I found Yibo? I also took our DNA tests and guess what, they don't match, they did not fucking match, how will you explain that mum?" Zhan said leaving his mother wide eyed in shook.

"You...you...you found him? My baby.....you found my baby? Where is he..."
She asked shakingly with tears all over her eyes.

"Yes mom, I found our baby...but you have to answer my question and I'll tell you where he's at... although I'm sure you already know that small detail....if you tell me, I may even bring him to you..." Zhan bargained.

"All right, I will tell you...I'll tell you everything."

Meanwhile, somewhere else

"That's good, at least he will know the truth now. I always knew that my Zhange was a genius, nothing can be hidden from him forever.
It will be better if all this will end as soon as possible..." Someone said to another man as he swirled on his office chair smiling gently as he looked at the big screen Infront of him.

"Things are getting exiting kook...don't you also think so?" He asked and the said man nodded at him smiling gently.

Sorry for my disappearance, I will update regularly from now.
