As I wake up, I am met with a bunch of boxes on my desk. It had been a few days since I gave Matteo my list, it finally being Halloween. I tossed and turned all night, too excited to fall asleep, which leaves me surprised as I didn't notice his special delivery this morning.
I crawl out of bed, disregarding my boot beside my nightstand. Matteo said the trial run started today. Still in my pajamas, I exit my room heading to the kitchen. I decide to open whatever Matteo got me later.
As I journey to the kitchen, I notice how strange it feels to walk without an added massive weigh to my left foot. So far, I don't experience any pain, it just feels weird.
The twins are in the kitchen which means my two eldest brothers are at work and the youngest is at school, since it's a Friday.
Ares sends me a nod, acknowledging my presence as he drinks his disgusting drink. I remain quiet, trying to sneak up on Bruno who's back is still turned.
I tip toe behind him trying to be stealth like.
"BOO!" I scream, jumping to the side of him.
He, of course, doesn't even flinch.
"Good morning, bambina. Sleep well?" He asks giving my head an affectionate pat.
I give him my best angry face, which he apparently finds funny.
"It's Halloween, I was trying to scare you." I whine attempting to playfully shove him. However, Bruno doesn't move a muscle, my miniscule body clearly not affecting him.
I huff in defeat, rounding the counter to sit beside a smirking Ares. I swear, that's his default face.
"Sorry, nothing scares me." Bruno cockly states, shrugging his shoulders.
He's wrong, I'm dressing up as something that scares all of them.
I stick my tongue out at him as he slides a plate of scrambled eggs infront of me. These boys and their protein.
"After school, Luca is going to take you trick or treating. How's that sound?" Bruno asks while I begin eating my cheesy eggs.
I finish chewing my food, a smile appearing on my face.
"We're going trick or treating?" I clarify trying to contain my eagerness.
I hear a scoff from beside me.
"Of course Parker, that's what you do on Halloween." Ares condescendly explains.
Jeez, someone's in a mood today...or everyday.
"Yeah, Friday's are busy at Ares's gym and my studio. Matteo and Lorenzo will have more work to finish so, that leaves Luca." Bruno informs me while cleaning up some dishes in the sink.
I sink lower into my seat, a frown now resting on my face. I was hoping we could all go together. Wishful thinking.
"But, we will all stay to see you off. Personally, I've been dying to know what you'll be dressed as." Bruno adds after seeing my defeated look.
