Shen Qingqiu tried to call Wangji until morning without any answer. It scared him that the man was too heartbroken and would do something stupid. Very stupid. Like dying.

"Calm down Qingqiu. He won't kill himself. He values his life."

The detective chuckled. "Shut up, Hua Cheng, this situation is a mess. Your plan was a mess."

Qingqiu began to regret his faith in Hua Cheng. They all believed a bit too much Wangji's mental strenght.

"It was the only way to free him, you know it."

Qingqiu shook his head and felt a hand on his shoulder. Binghe was placing some food on the table while Xie Lian had brought him a cup of coffee.

"Honestly, I am worried too." said the owner of the restaurant, while sitting down. "He was completely out of himself when I saw him outside the police station."

"I don't think he will do something so stupid. At least not right now." Binghe added, joining the others. "If I were him, I would get revenge and then kill myself."

"For once, I agree with the ogre."

The said ogre threw a piece of food at him, but Hua Cheng was fast enough to miss it. Shen Qingqiu sighed at the childish behavior but thought about what Binghe had said. He was not wrong to think like that. Lan Wangji does not seem someone to let it slide so easily. He was getting a piece of food when he heard a loud bang. The door of the restaurant was wide open.

They all widened their eyes. Lan Wangji was in front of them, but it was so different from the one they all knew. His suit was completely messed up, as well as his hair. He looked at Qingqiu first and then Hua Cheng, before launching himself towards him, discarding the table in front of him.

Qingqiu fell, while Binghe tried to stop Wangji from attacking Hua Cheng directly. The youngest didn't seem too impressed, even if he was quite surprised.

"Wei Ying is dead!"

After struggling against Luo Binghe for a while, he was able to free himself and tried to punch Hua Cheng, who was good enough to dodge it. There was no point in stopping it because he would probably break his arm. Qingqiu quickly jumped to tackle him, but he didn't move too much.

"Wait, Wangji, stop!" he said, hoping to get him to come back to his senses. He could smell the strong reek of alcohol, and everything was clearer.

Binghe tried to stop him once again, but he was punched straight in the face, and Qingqiu left Wangji to check on him.

"Oh my God, are you okay?"

"Yes, I forgot how strong he was," Binghe said, some blood dripping from his nose.

"No, you just are shit at fighting." Hua Cheng said, still dodging the drunk detective's hits.

"You killed him! Why was there a police car there?" Lan Wangji exclaimed and suddenly was able to catch Hua Cheng by the collar, putting him against the wall.

"You knew he would have died!" and he punched him in the face. Shen Qingqiu knew Hua Cheng could dodge that hit easily but felt like it was on purpose. That must have really hurt.

"Yes, I did. There was no other way." He replied spitting some blood on the floor near him. "He had to die to be free, Wangji"

"Hua Cheng!" Qingqiu screamed. Lan Wangji would kill him if he kept that attitude!

He was going to move, but he felt Xie Lian being quicker and Binghe jumping up to get behind the drunk detective. As the latter struggled, Xie Lian out of haste punched him straight in the face and Wangji fainted. Xie Lian quickly went to check on him, scared to have hurt him too badly.
