The Beginning of New Traditions

Gift Giving on New Years Eve

Cale got the idea while walking around Rain City town square in the Henituse Dukedom. It was winter season and nearing the new years, snow rains down the peaceful place while adults stroll around shops and kids playing in the cold. Cale, along with Choi Han and the kids, were able to come across a toy shop as they stroll.

He remembered the time as Kim Rok Soo when his parents would take him for Christmas shopping, it was a happy memory. After the death of his parents and being left to his uncle until the time he was brought to the orphanage, those Christmas shopping sprees were just a bitter reminder. They weren't religious to begin with, but after their accident, Kim Rok Soo began forgetting about Gods. The monsters appeared and the Gods never answered his prayers like always. However, Choi Jung Soo had to have positive outlook on life that he insisted on gift exchanges during Christmas in the shelter. That and their birthdays were the few great memories he has of that time. Their deaths stopped that tradition but he still visited their graves at those times.

He wanted to give gifts to the children however this world does not have a Christmas, there are different Gods and Their temples, however, their celebrations varied. Cale decided to just give them on New Year's Eve.

As they returned to the Super Rock Villa, Cale and Choi Han had their discussion.

"What do you think?" Asks Cale.

"I'm excited, Cale-nim." Choi Han happily answered.

New Year's Eve is in three weeks and they still have time to prepare.

"Let's shop for gifts next weekend."

"Yes, Cale-nim."

During that week Cale and Choi Han made their plans for the New Year's Eve party. Before they left for shopping, Cale gave the list to Ron and Hans to do.

"Take me with you, human!"

"No Raon. It's a surprise. Just teleport us to Rain City Square."

"But.."
"Meow"

"You'll find out about it on New Year's Eve anyways."

"Fine! This better be a great and mighty surprise for this great and mighty dragon and for hyung and noona!"

"Yes yes" Cale says just as Raon casts the teleportation magic.

Cale and Choi Han spent hours looking for gifts to give the children and other family members on New Year's Eve. Being well known heroes kinda made shopping a bit difficult. Cale as much as he likes to deny it, is the most famous among the group.

People left them alone and gave way, staying at a distance from them when Cale gave them a smile, one that Raon would comment on him scamming someone, and said,

"I apologize but we are kind of busy. We're in the middle of shopping for gifts. The kids have been great and well behave this year so I planned on giving them gifts on New Year's Eve. Choi Han and I wanted the kids to look forward to celebrating new year and being on their best behavior while learning as they grow."

After the last bit of their shopping spree, no other people bothered them and just kept observing them from a distance.

As they left via teleportation scroll, people began their happy murmurs of how thoughtful and creative the Heroes were to their kids, family, and their allies.

People began thinking of doing the gift giving event on new year for their own households. Parents began looking for small gifts for their children. Children looking for gifts to their parents. Friends looking for gifts to give to a friend. And lovers looking for gifts to give their person. People, one by one, began looking for something to give their love ones.

This was when Cale and Choi Han unknowingly created a new New Years tradition.
