The evening's air was crisp against your cheeks as you stood outside waiting for Osamu to meet you out back. It was fifteen minutes past seven, any longer you were going to just get in your car and head home. Did he stand you up? Another sick prank to make you look foolish? You sighed, checking the time on your screen as another minute passed by.Just as you were about to turn off, the back door creaks open and out steps Miya, swiftly pulling his keys out of the pocket of his black work slacks to lock up for the night.
"Sorry about the wait, had a customer show up a few minutes after closing." He speaks softly, his tone muffled with his back turned while he removes the key from its lock— facing you now, he offers an apologetic smile that you meekly return in attempts to not falter your new found 'work relationship' with the man, despite how you really feel.
"I understand."
Not that you actually can understand it— you've never had a customer come in after closing. In fact, you've actually closed the shop early some days after having next to none show up after a good while.
"Ready to go?" He asks enthusiastically, a stark contrast from the scowl permanently etched on your face. "I'll just assume that's a yes. Come on, my car's this way."
