(y/n) hummed to herself as she walked through the shopping mall. she had decided to get out of the house to try and make herself feel a bit better. as much as she tried to convince herself she had moved on, thoughts about the party were still lingering in the back of her mind.

she just didn't understand why wet bowser had acted in such a way, considering she had seen a whole new side to him the previous night. (y/n) was looking at the floor as she went around the corner, before she suddenly collided with another figure.

"hey, watch where you're-" she cut herself off, "kathy?!"

"you really have to stop bumping into me, (y/n)," the other girl joked.

(y/n) laughed, "so, what are you doing here?"

"going shopping, what else?" kathy replied, "care to join me?"

(y/n) and kathy decided to go and have a coffee first so that they could catch up since they last saw each other. the pair of them walked to starbucks, kathy ordering a iced caramel macchiato and (y/n) ordering (f/d).

the girls chatted over their coffee, gossiping about every aspect of their lives. kathy mentioned the party, and (y/n)'s smile instantly dropped. she began telling kathy about what has happened the next morning, and the way wet bowser had treated her. she explained how he used to bully her when they were kids, before he changed schools.

"really?!" kathy exclaimed, "i had no idea... i guess that explains how you knew him on the first day of UA."

(y/n) continued talking about the party, and how she had seen a different side to wet bowser that night. how he had apologised, and how it made her think he had changed as a person. although she was a little embarrassed to admit it, she told kathy about how she had started to develop feelings for him over the course of the night, and now she didn't know what to do.

kathy always knew wet bowser was trouble, but for him to treat her friend like this was unacceptable. she could never look at him the same way again.

"why don't we go buy you a nice outfit to take your mind off him?" kathy suggested, taking the final sip from her drink.

(y/n) and kathy made their way out of the starbucks, walking towards the most expensive clothing store in the mall. kathy stopped in her tracks as she saw a figure in the distance. she did a double take, not believing what she saw as wet bowser himself was strolling casually across the mall.

"girl, don't look now!" kathy whispered, but it was too late.

before kathy could stop her, (y/n)'s eyes were already locked on wet bowser. she noticed how he was walking towards an expensive jewellery store. she recognised this store as it was the very same one her father bought her jewellery from on previous birthdays.

why is he going in there? (y/n) thought, it's probably for one of the other girls he's leading on!

(y/n) turned around dramatically, tears begging to form in her beautiful (e/c) orbs. kathy put her hand on her friend's shoulder.

"girl, forget about him!" she stated, "you deserve better! let's go get that outfit!"

before (y/n) could protest, kathy grabbed her by the arm and dragged her into the store. she began browsing through the items of clothing on the rails, taking off several dresses.

"try these on," kathy said, practically shoving them towards her.

"kathy, no!" (y/n) whined, "these wouldn't look good on me..."

"don't say that!" she replied, dragging her towards the changing room.

(y/n) sighed, knowing there was no getting out of this. she began changing into the first dress, it was long and black with lace detailing. she pulled the curtain aside and showed kathy, asking her what she thought.
