Bittersweet Conversation

"You're gonna forgive me?" F!Casey asked, looking over P!Raph's shoulder with hope.

"Fuck off Jones, work for it" F!Leo glared at F!Casey who immediately ducked behind P!Raph again, "Tsk.. humans" F!Leo rolled his eyes.

F!Mikey looked around and noticed a small necklace on the ground, he walked over and picked it up, "How come we've never noticed this before?" he asked, tilting his head.

"It probably just fell down one of the sewer drains, it happens all the time" F!Raph looked at his younger brother rolling his eyes.

"I suppose you're right" F!Mikey put the necklace back down and went over to his past self, "Woah look Raph! I look so cool!" F!Mikey looked over to F!Raph.

"Sure.. whatever you say" F!Raph mumbled walking into the kitchen, F!Mikey frowned looking towards the door.

"Is he okay?" P!Donnie asked and looked over to the future Mikey.

"Well.. he also kinda changed when you died.." F!Mikey shrugged and sat down on the couch, "I miss the old times.." he laid down and closed his eyes.

P!Donnie sighed he always thought they would've cared this much, "Well.. I should start on a way to get you guys home.." he walked away and into his lab, closely followed by F!Leo.

P!Donnie sat down and noticed F!Leo standing close to his desk, "Why are you following me Leo..?"

"I just.. missed you a lot.. I want to.. uh.. spend some time with you before we go back to the future" F!Leo confessed and P!Donnie nodded.

"Okay well if you're going to stay with me you can help with stuff" P!Donnie said and F!Leo replied with a small "okay."

P!Donnie started reading some books while F!Leo looked around the lab taking it all in, he hasn't been in the lab since Donnie's passing, he missed all of it.

"I'm guessing you haven't been in my lab since the accident" P!Donnie asked, not looking up from his book.

"Is it that obvious?" F!Leo asked, looking at the shelves with all different types of weird things Donnie collected over the years.

"You look like you're about to cry Leo" P!Donnie said looking up, "Would you like to talk about it while everyone else is doing other things?" P!Donnie stood up and made his way to his future brother.

"It's been really hard without you Don, it's hard to defeat the Kraang without you," F!Leo stared down at his feet trying to keep his emotions in, "Honestly no one has been the same, even Splinter has gotten quiet, he only talks when it's necessary."

"Oh wow... I'm sorry Leo" P!Donnie side hugged F!Leo, "But you'll come to terms with my death eventually Leo, everyone dies brother and sometimes life is cruel and takes someone too early" P!Donnie took F!Leo's arm and brought him to the other side of the lab kneeling down and motioned F!Leo to kneel as well, "I've been working on these tracker bracelets for a while, they have different uses as well."

"Woah.. I never knew about these" F!Leo gawked while P!Donnie chuckled.

"Guess I never got the chance to give them to you guys" P!Donnie sighed, a sad expression present on his face, "When you go back to the future, maybe you can use them" he suggested and F!Leo nodded.

"Yea.. I would like that, it would give me a reason to venture into your lab again" F!Leo smiled and looked at the bracelets one last time before standing up.

"If you don't mind me asking, how exactly did I die?" P!Donnie stood up, "I'm guessing Mikey's explanation missed some parts."

"Uh well.. He did explain it pretty well, but he missed the part where Jones didn't care you got injured, all that human cared about was impressing April.. I don't think any of his apologies were real.." F!Leo stood up and walked across the room followed by P!Donnie, "To be truthful I never wanted humans to know about us.. I wish.. I wish you never fell in love with April."

P!Donnie looked shocked by this sudden outburst, never once has he heard Leo talk so badly about humans, "I.. woah.. Leo I didn't know you felt like this.. did you feel like this in the past?"

F!Leo looked over to P!Donnie and realized how hurt he looked, "No.. not until the accident.. I actually really wanted to see April and Casey become better fighters.. to learn how to fully protect themselves.. but obviously not anymore.. since they are kinda sorta banned from the lair."

"Ah.. I see" P!Donnie sat down in his chair and closed his eyes.

"I wish things worked out differently... but it didn't, you are dead Donnie and there was nothing I could've done to stop that" F!Leo paced up and down the lab with guilt plastered across his face.

"You should stop worrying about what you couldn't have done and focus on what you did do" P!Donnie stood up and stopped F!Leo's pacing, "You cannot change what happened Leo, I've already accepted my faith.. if I'm suppose to die in the future, then I die and we can't change that."

F!Leo looked at P!Donnie and sighed heavily and put his head on his brothers shoulder, "I hate when you're right.." he groaned and all P!Donnie did was roll his eyes at his brothers behavior.

"You act like a child sometimes Leo" P!Donnie smiled as F!Leo playfully slapped him on the shoulder.

"Yeah yeah yeah whatever Don."

F!Leo smiled back at P!Donnie and then smacked him across the face, "THAT IS FOR DYING DONATELL" F!Leo screeched and the started laughing hysterically at P!Donnie's confused look.

"Sorry??" P!Donnie rubbed his cheek where he was smacked,"Was that really necessary though?"

"Yes" F!Leo smiled, "Now you should start working out how we got here."

"Yep, you go sit in the corner."

F!Leo pouted and went to the corner while P!Donnie went to take a seat at his desk, "This will take a while..." P!Donnie thoughted while he started reading a book.
