The sun was setting a few of the hashira finally had some time off and were relaxing. We some don't know how to relax so they resorted to walking or taking a run.

One particular hashira actually just got off of his time off so he had to go on a mission. That was Tomioka Giyuu.

And one the hashira who was on his time off and who was going on a run, ran into the water hashira.

Sanemi had been running for a while. He was sweaty and shirtless. While running he saw a certain water hashira walking towards the exit of the small village of where all their estates resided.

Sanemi usually wouldn't talk to him but he was such a work acholic he wanted to know what was going on as of recent.

He ran to Giyuu and then stopped to walk beside him. Giyuu knew he was there but chose to not speak. "What are the details of your mission?" Sanemi asked.

"Maybe a member of the 12 kizuki, may be not. All I know is that it is strong and dangerous. And it is in the entertainment district...again." He said groaning.

Giyuu had a few missions in the past with the entertainment district. And he hated every ounce of it.

To many people.

Vomit

Drugs

Sex

Men mistaking him for a woman and groping him. He hated it.

Giyuu abruptly yawned. Sanemi noticed the eye bags, but he chose not to say anything. "Alright, good luck." He said stopping and letting Giyuu still walk, Giyuu waved without looking back.

Sanemi sighed and turned aroundband walked back to the rest of the estates.

That was a week ago and the hashira labeled him as MIA. He didn't send a crow out at all to give them some word.

They were all ordered to stay in a room together and wait for the master. "I don't know if it is just me, but it is been less depressing around here without him." Uzui said leaning back. "Hm, when you are on missions we are thankful because it is really quiet without your stupidity." Shinobu said.

Shinobu and Uzui started to argue.

Then the doors opened and they went silent just as if they never were arguing at all. They all sat down. The master came in and they all bowed and greeted him.

"Hello my children. I do have an update about Giyuu. It may not be much but it is something." The master explained.

"We have found his crow. The poor thing was lost with a broken wing and was panicking." The master said, the Master's wife Amane came in holding the crow who had a bandaged wing.

It jumped down and started to walk around the room almost as if it was looking for someone. But it gave up realizing they weren't there.

"Aw, are you looking for Tomioka-san?!" Mitsuri yelled picking it up. It cawed and sent threatening noises to her, she instantly let it go. "I'm afraid he is upset without Giyuu being here." Amane said picking him up once more.

"I shall pray that Tomioka is alright and returns to ease his crows mind." Gyomei said. "Isn't it obvious? Something must have happened to Giyuu if his crow was here and lost." Muichiro said.

"Please don't speak out of turn Muichiro. Also please be respectful and referr to Tomioka-san with his last name." Shinobu said slightly scolding Muichiro. "Who is that?" Muichiro asked. They all dead panned.

The master sighed. "We'll all keep an eye out for him but we have to prepare for the worse." The master explained.

Hearing this made the air change. The thought of Tomioka being dead lingered in the air creating a uncomfortable silence.

Uzui sighed. "Even without him, it is still depressing..." Uzui said, the other Hashira's didn't really find the joke funny but it wasn't the time to argue.

The meeting went on and eventually when it ended some hashira had to leave due to patrols and missions.

Sanemi had patrol. So he was already gone. He couldn't stop thinking about Giyuu and wondering if he was really dead. While walking he could hear shuffling. He froze and turned to them. "Who's there?!" He yelled out, pulling out his sword. He walked through the shrubbery and he froze not expecting to see what he saw. It was Tomioka.

He was crawling on the ground, broken sword in hand. He was using it to move himself. He was drenched in his own blood. It seemed as if he had broken legs. Sanemi dropped his sword and ran to Giyuu's side helping him up.

His crow who was watching from above took off to get help. "Tomioka. Where the hell have you've been?!" Sanemi yelled as he held Giyuu's body. Holding him he could see his wounds better.

He had been stabbed multiple times. Giyuu who was exhausted finally looked like he was going up on staying conscious. Sanemi shook him a bit. "Stay awake asshole." Sanemi demanded. "...P-please just let me close my eyes..." Giyuu mumbled out before coughing up blood.

It seemed he was using breath techniques to slow down his blood flow to stop him from bleeding out, but now he was giving up.

"No!" Sanemi yelled, he said while gently smacking Giyuu's cheek with his hand. He realized that Giyuu was running on quicksand. He got up and started to to run to the butterfly mansion. While running he didn't even realize Giyuu's lost of consciousness.

His hand fell limp, actually he didn't loose consciousness, he died. His heart gave out. He took his final breath.

But Sanemi didn't realize it.

He just kept running. He ran in the butterfly mansion and ran to find Shinobu he busted in. She instantly shot up and was shouting for soneine to come help her. "See, Tomioka. Everything is going to be fin-..." He had finally looked down.

He froze. The lifeless look in Giyuu's eyes, they were dull. Blood dripping from the side of this mouth. His body was limp. "Oi, Tomioka." Sanemi called out shaking him a bit.

"Tomioka!" Sanemi yelled. He dropped to his knees laying him on the ground as he could hear Shinobu yelling. She ran next to hima nd started to examine his body. Looking for a pulse or even a breath.

"Shinazugawa you have to do chest compressions." She said. Sanemi nodded and started.

As he did chest compressions he felt Giyuu's ribs crack underneath his hands. One by one. It sent chills up Sanemi's spine as he felt his bones break.

Eventually in the long run it was worth it. Because he was breathing. More people came in and helped. Sanemi went to the wall and leaned against it with his hands tugging on his hair.

He felt disturbed knowing he caused those bones to break.

Shinobu was speaking and so was the Kazuki. They were all talking. But Sanemi wasn't paying attention to them. They were just mumbles.

Eventually it was all over. Giyuu was safe and his wounds were all treated and he was asleep in the bed next to Sanemi who was sitting against the wall still.

Shinobu tried to talk to Sanemi. But he didn't want it.

Eventually he was forced to go home.

He walked into his house and went to the bathroom and instantly threw up. Then after he took his clothes off and left them on the floor. He got into the bath filled with warm steamy water.

The blood that stained his hands and over parts of his body washed away in the water.

It wasn't his but it was Giyuu's.
