Hero raced through the streets, heart racing at an inhuman pace. 
'This cant be happening, this cant be happening!'

But it was.
About 10 minutes ago hero got a notification from his phone, a text from you. He didnt think much of it until he actually started reading it. His heart started to slowly sinking as he read word by word, even re-reading it as shock and panic made its way into his veins;

My dearest Hero, my Hero.
By the time this message has been delivered, I will be ending my life. 
I'm sorry to do this to you, especially since its the 4th of July, but I cant take the pain of life anymore. It isn't your fault, it never was. Please don't blame yourself when I'm gone, don't burden yourself and overthink over something so small. You will overcome my death and forget about me sooner or later anyway. 
You made my life worth living up until now and I am truly grateful for the happiest and love that you have shown me, the love that your family have shown me, and the love that our friends have shown me.
Tell kel that I'm sorry we couldn't finish our show marathon, tell aubs that I'm sorry that i cant help her with her hair in the morning, tell basil that I'm sorry that I wont be able to help him garden again, And hero,
I'm sorry that I couldn't continue to be your lover. You deserve better, and i love you.

The minute he stopped reading he immediately tracked your phone, finding out that you were at an abandoned apartment complex. After that, he ran as fast as his feet could take him.
He sees people smiling and laughing with their families, while tears threaten to pour out of his eyes. He reaches the old apartments and runs up the stairs. It smells awful, his legs were sore and felt like they were on fire, but he didn't care. He continued running until he reached the top floor.

He went to open the door.

Its blocked off by something. Hero began to slam his body against the door, the chair that was blocking it on the other side breaks as the door flings wide open.
He rushes in and runs down the hall.

There's a glass door leading to the balcony, he see's bursts of color set off into the sky,
with a loud boom following. That's not the only thing he sees. You.
The wind gracefully carries your hair, you're standing on the edge of the balcony looking up at the sky. Hero stands there in shock. He watches as you lean forward,
move.

Move.

MOVE.

WHY WONT HE MOVE?!

Hero rushes over, screaming your name. He's crying. 
He runs over and grabs onto your hand tightly. You look at him, eyes filled with no emotion at all, mouth just a line. He's crying, his hands are sweating as he tries to pull you up.

Your hands are slipping out of his grasp. He starts to panic, holding on with all of his might. He looks at you desperately, eyes pleading for you to grab onto him. Yet, all you do is smile. Not a happy one, but a smile full of sadness and pity.

You slip from his grasp and fall. Hero tried to grab back onto you, but no use. His ears were ringing as he screams you name, hes sobbing. A nightmare is what this was, why cant he wake up?
A disturbing crunch can be heard, he fell to his knees, shaking.

Hero sits in the waiting room in the hospital as his mom pleads with the doctors, asking about you. His eyes are empty as that crunch plays over and over in his head. Kel sits across from him in disbelieve. You? Committing suicide? no. he knew you since you were kids. you wouldn't have done something like that..

The doctor comes out. Hero watches as his mom rushes over, dad right behind her. There's still a tiny spark of hope in him, but that spark goes out the minute he sees his dad put a hand on his moms shoulder. The room felt cold. You were gone, he could see it all over the doctors face.
His mom looks at hero, tears in her eyes. She walks over and hugs him saying how it wasn't his fault, and that she's sorry.







He now hates the 4th of July...
