What went wrong? Him? dead? no. nonono, he wouldn't leave us. 


After you, hero, kel, and sunny met up with aubrey, you all decided that you'd all apologize to basil since sunny was moving tomorrow, you all wanted to get the friend group back together, but when you went to basils house, polly informed you that basils grandmother was in the hospital and basil went to visit her. You all went on your ways and came back in a couple of hours to a relived polly. Basil HAD returned, but he was quiet. Going straight to his room. You had a bad feeling, Hero recommended we all stay the night, saying how we should be there for each other.  

So, that's what we did.

Night had already arrived, everyone was asleep. Except you. You always had a bad time falling asleep, so you just closed your eyes, waiting for sleep to overwhelm you and consume you whole. Suddenly, footsteps. You peek your eye open to see sunny walking out of basils house, slowly closing the door behind him. 'strange..' you thought, but he was moving tomorrow, he probably left something at his house.

























































































A couple minutes later, Polly screams. You can hear the pure terror and fear laced in it. Everyone shot up and ran to the hallway. Polly was trembling, a hand over her mouth as tears trickled down her face "why.....why...." she mumbles. Hero went to say something to her until he had a glimpse himself. Quiet. His eyes widened. As soon as you know it everyone's crying or tearing up. Aubrey ran to the bathroom to throw up, it was too much for her to handle. 
You walked forward, basils door was cracked "Y/N...You don't wanna see this.." hero murmurs to you with a shaky voice. You ignore him.

no... it cant be....

"Basil?...." You say. no. nonoNONO. this cant be happening. you want to scream, you want to cry, you want to yell. but you cant. a lump is stuck in your throat. You go through denial, this is just a nightmare, he's not dead, he's just asleep. He wouldn't kill himself, that's not him at all! 
Your legs give out. you hold yourself up on the door frame. Your ears start ringing. Polly is on the phone sobbing. Your vision goes burry and your mind goes blank. One moment, you're in the hallway, the next polly is hugging you, then you're outside, sirens blasting in a sick melody. You see them taking basil in the ambulance. Kel is trying to say something to you, aubrey is sitting on the ground crying, covering her face. 


It was all a blur, until it wasn't.



















































































You and polly sit in the waiting room of the hospital. She's holding your hand, occasionally grabbing tissues to wipe her sorrows away. 
"Its not your fault Y/N, we had no chance of knowing.." Polly says while rubbing your knuckles "I'm sure....I'm sure he'll be fine" You can tell she's saying empty promises, its in her voice. she's scared, she doesn't know what's gonna happen. You choose to say nothing. The white noise of the hospital and the brightness is giving you a headache, all of a sudden a doctor comes in. He pulls you and polly aside. 
"any news?.." she says with hope in her voice, practically pleading with the doctor without actually pleading. The doctor looks down "I'm sorry for your loss...We tried everything we could."  Polly breaks down, hugging you saying how she was sorry. 
'no...Please no...' You think. 

"can we see him at least?..." You ask the doctor, voice sounding small. He nods and walks you to basils room. 
Polly stayed behind, her heart couldn't handle it. 

The doctor leaves you two alone. 
"Hey..." You say to your deceased lover
"I heard a thing once, that the spirit doesn't pass on until 4 days..So hopefully you're there..." You say tearing up. you clutch your hands into a fist grinding you teeth a bit.
"Look at you.... Leaving me like this?... I get it that you had problems ..but you could've talked to me instead of this!" You say sobbing. You put your head on his chest. he's cold as ice 
"I NEED YOU! PLEASE DONT LEAVE ME ALONE!"
after 20 minutes you wipe your face off "W-when you pass on....say hi to mari for me... mkay?..." 
you bend down and kiss his cheek while pushing a strand of hair behind his ear.

You don't wanna leave him, but you have to be there for polly, and everyone else. You walk out to the waiting room, polly waiting. "you okay dear?.." she says "I dont think i will be for a bit...but ill have to get over it eventually... Its what he would've wanted, and mari.." 
Polly nods and hugs you, walking out of the hospital.
