Chapter 2

Rosie sits up so fast she almost propels herself off the roof.

Jennie holds both of her hands out in front of her like she was fully prepared to catch the brunette if she did end up falling off. "Jesus, be careful, Roro. Two accidents in one day is a record, even for you."

Nothing reverberates in Rosie's head except for the nickname.

Roro roro roro.

She can't help but let a dopey smile stretch across her face. "I used to love it when you called me Roro."

Rosie's voice is wistful. She sounds far away, disconnected from reality, which she honestly kind of was with the whole fantasy world she had conjured up earlier.

It's definitely the weed.

Jennie is standing a few feet away from Rosie on the ground, her head craned up to look at the other girl. The nickname had just sort of slipped out of her mouth, like second nature.

Jennie obviously wasn't expecting this response though as she stammers, trying to piece together what was happening. Jennie decides to just deflect, asking "What are you doing up there, Rosie?" not using the nickname again because of the strange behavior the other girl was exhibiting.

"Nothing." Rosie responds. "Everything."

"Are- are you okay?!"

It's like Rosie doesn't even hear the question as her eyes go comically wide, the realization that she doesn't have any peanut butter ice cream stocked up in her freezer for Jennie dawning on her. Rosie begins to apologize profusely to the other girl, almost on the verge of tears, to which Jennie just desperately tries to calm the other girl down, even though she's utterly and completely confused. (But Jennie can't help it, she's never liked seeing the other girl upset.)

If the brownie wasn't proving to kick in earlier, it certainly was now. The line between real and fake was practically nonexistent in Rosie's mind now, considering that she hasn't bought or had any peanut butter ice cream in five years. The taste of it made her sad.

"Rosie, will you please just get down? You're starting to freak me the fuck out and I don't want you to fall." Jennie is basically pleading with her now, and Rosie was shit at saying no, so the brunette moves her head up and down in a rapid motion, mirroring a bobble head, and goes to climb back through her window.

In a blurred and hazy decision, she quickly grabs her wallet and house key before running out of the house, looking a lot less stealthier than she thinks she does.

She also trips on the last step of the stairs and nearly chips a tooth, but grabs onto a doorframe just in time.

Rosie rushes out her front door, and makes her way to a still bewildered Jennie, who's standing in almost the exact same place she was before, just moving her gaze back and forth between the window and Rosie.

"I'm hungry." Rosie states as they're standing awkwardly on the lawn.

Rosie of course doesn't feel awkward at all, (again the weed) but Jennie is definitely suspicious of the frequent amount of times they've interacted today.

"Okay." Jennie says slowly, not sure what to do with that piece of information.

"Can we go to the Grill?" Rosie asks, "Please?" She tacks on at the end in an attempt to not sound rude.

She may be high, but she still had manners.

Jennie bites her lip and takes a brief glance at the house across from Rosie's. She was supposed to be spending the night at Hanbin's house. She really just wanted to be held after the day she had had, but that cuddling also probably involved watching some dorky fantasy movie again for the nth time.
