Chapter 12
"Okay, run it with me one more time." Rosie orders, her eyes scanning over her neatly written notes for at least the tenth time.
Jennie sighs, rubbing at her forehead as she sits up from their headboard and snatches Rosie's notebook out from her hands.
Rosie lets out a whine of betrayal, watching Jennie set aside her sheets of paper on the bedside table.
"As much as I love helping you," Jennie prefaces, "we've been doing this for two hours and if I hear you say semitendinosus one more time, I might scream." She takes one of Rosie's hands in hers, lightly tugging her towards the pillows.
"Come lay with me." Jennie requests, her lips jutting out in a pout as she gives her girlfriend her best puppy dog eyes.
Rosie isn't budging though, staying firmly seated at the foot of the bed. "No, my quiz is tomorrow." She reminds Jennie, outstretching her other arm to make grabby hands at her notebook.
Jennie sighs again, good-naturedly rolling her eyes as she leans back into the pillows, her pout intensifying. She nudges Rosie with her foot. "If anything I think you're over-prepared." She grumbles, a bit butthurt that Rosie hadn't been paying attention to her. She just wanted Rosie's cuddles.
Rosie gently shoves Jennie's leg back and gets off the bed, walking over to grab her notes, but in a burst of inhuman strength, Jennie reaches off the bed and wraps her arms around Rosie's torso, literally dragging her back into bed.
Rosie awkwardly lands on Jennie's lap, her shoulder accidentally shoving into Jennie's nose.
Jennie twists Rosie around a bit so that the taller girl can straddle her, her hands easily landing on Rosie's hips, while Rosie loops her arms around Jennie's neck.
Rosie gently kisses Jennie's nose, a silent apology for smacking it earlier. The younger girl scoots back a little in Jennie's lap so that she can bury her nose in Jennie's neck.
"I can't believe you let me become a biology major," Rosie mutters, placing a chaste kiss on the side of Jennie's neck.
The statement makes Jennie let out a small chuckle as her hands slide under the thin material of Rosie's t-shirt, rubbing small circles onto her hip bones.
"Well, forgive me for thinking Dr. Roseanne Park was hot." Jennie muses, returning the kiss with a quick peck on the top of Rosie's head.
"Physician's assistant," Rosie quickly corrects her, "that's if I even make it into the program." She adds on pessimistically, slinking further down into Jennie's body.
"Hey," Jennie gently coos, pulling away to get a look at Rosie's face, which honestly looked exhausted, "that's awfully morbid for someone who's been in college for a month." She teases, making Rosie lightly pinch the back of her neck.
"University has changed me." Rosie dramatically mutters. "I can't believe we have to do this for three more years." She whines, shifting on Jennie's lap.
Jennie chuckles again. "Speak for yourself," She muses, placing another kiss on Rosie's shoulder. "I could do this forever." She whispers against Rosie's skin, making the taller girl pull back.
Rosie doesn't go far though, her face hovering inches away from Jennie's so that she can stare lovingly into familiar cat eyes. She doesn't hesitate for a second as she pushes forward to capture Jennie's bottom lip between her own, curling her fingers up into Jennie's hair.
It barely lasts a couple of seconds until Rosie pulls away, Jennie desperately surges forward to try and kiss Rosie again, but the blonde is having none of it.
