"Thank you for agreeing to be her chaperone gilbert we do appreciate it" Matthew said to the boy
"It's no problem I will try my best to keep her out of a ditch" he chuckled to himself as she rolled her eyes and they found their seats.
Anne looked out the window admiring the beauty of nature, as gilbert admired anne and her beauty. Her blissful, firey red hair. Her cute little freckles he then mentally slapped him self "what no it's not like that with anne she's just a freind" he thought to himself
"Oh gilbert I'm so excited to see aunt Josephine and Cole and Diana I've been longing to visit since Cole left"
gilbert carefully watched her and admired her excitement as he said
"I'm excited to spend the weekend with yo- uh with my friends" he quickly corrected himself
Anne was too busy imagining how beautiful the trees were even without leaves
They arrived at aunt Josephine's as Diana ran to anne
"Oh dearest Diana I've missed you so much"
She then ran over to Cole and hugged him as he picked her up and spun her round
"IVE MISSED YOU SO MUCH" they said in unison gilbert said hello to Diana and followed them all inside he couldn't help but notice the way Cole and anne hugged and he felt a weird pain in his chest but he shrugged it off
"So I see gilbert still has a crush on you?" Cole smirked to anne
"That's absurd as I've stated before gilbert does not have a crush on me!" She shouted this then froze in embassment as she slowly turned around to see a smirking gilbert blythe
"Gilbert I-" she started but aunt Josephine came in and interrupted the moment which anne was extremely grateful for
"Anne! Gilbert! How do you do?"
"Good, you?" They said in unison they looked at each other and blushed and quickly looked away
"Off we go I shall show you to your rooms, as your only here for a weekend you can each have your own rooms but then 2 rooms will be used so unfortunately extending your stay isn't an option"
Everyone got to their rooms and placed down their bags and all went to coles room to catch up
"So gilbert I heard you and anne spent last Christmas together (A/N this story is set at Christmas time) she told me in her letters she talks so much about you, you know"
Anne was a blushing mess and blurted out "THATS NOT TRUE"
"Fond of me are we carrots ?" He said flirtatiously
"GILBERT BLYTHE YOU ARE RIDICULOUS" she stormed off to her room with Diana following.
