Y/n POV

it was just another day, except for the fact that it wasn't.

Wilbur had beat down your door at 5 oclock in the morning, demanding your attention.

(i tried to google the average time for a sunrise in england as that's where Y/n and Wilbur live but the results were inconclusive so i just stuck to the regular time for the US i hope its not too far off i apolagize for any inacuracies)

upon opening your door you find him standing there with a thick blanket and a flashlight seeing as it's still dark out.

"what in the world are you doing?" you question wiping the sleep from your eyes.

Wilbur restrains himself from awing at your adorable state. rumpled pajamas, messy bedhead, and that sweet still half asleep look on your face.

without answering you he gently takes hold of your unocupied hand as you continue to rub the sleep from your face and pulls you out of your apartment.

letting yourself follow behind him you pause for a moment to shut your door, making sure it's closed all the way.

as he leads you through the building Wilbur starts to hum under his breath. recognizing the tune you start to hum along as well.

Wilbur notices you humming with him and softly smiles at you.

ignoring that slightly awkward moment you realize where he is leading you.

he opens the door to the roof and holds it for you. you glance at him confused, stopping just outside the door.

chuckling he finally decides to speak to you, "i know how much you love the stars so i figured we could watch them leave and be replaced by the sun," he smiles hapilly while laying the blanket on the edge of the roof allowing the two of you to sit with your legs hanging off the edge.

glancing over the end of the building the ground seemed to further itself the more you looked and your mind forced your body to push itself into the door.

you've never told abyone as you didn't want to seem childish, but you had a huge fear of heights. it used to be bad enough you would only go up so many floors before refusing to go any further. it was like your body knew when it was getting to far from the earths surface. however, as time passed yo slowly grew out of that fear, it still stuck around but not quite to the extent it used to be at.

now you just have a hard time crossing large briges and climbing to the top of something with a view.

"wilbur have i ever told you about my fears?" you ask quietly as you force your body further into the door if possible..

"no, i don't think we've ever gotten the chance to talk about what we're scared of," he states glancing at you in worry. he had long since sat on the blanket he had layed out not fearful of the great height he could possibly fall from.

"well, i suppose now's as good a time as any to say that i have acrophobia," you slowly look toward his face trying to avoid looking at the buildings next to you.

"you're scared of spiders? well i mena as much as i love to learn new things about you i don't understand how spiders relates to watching a sunrise together-" you cut hi off as he continues to ramble.

"not aracnaphobia. acrophobia," you state starting to wiggle the handle a bit. "i'm scared of heights. like really badly."

"oh," Wilbur glances around the roof, taking note of how you were frantically trying to force your way back inside. maybe coming up here to watch the sunrise wasn't the best idea. "well, that's not a big deal. we can just go downstairs and head over to the park to watch the sunrise, sure we won't get to see all of it, but we'll see the last bit of it."

you sigh as you give up on opening the door, "Wilbur i don't think you understand, i'm gonna need a bit longer than walking down the stairs to recover from the pure fear i'm feeling right now. i genuinely don't think i could move my body for the next hour at least."

taking in your trembling figure, wilbur finally realizes just how much your fear affects you.

"okay, okay. we'll take this slow then." he stands and walks over to you calmly. "here, give me your hand."

glancing down at his hand you slowly stretch yours out toward him. grasping onto his hand you take a moment to ground yourself. you close your eyes and give yourself a second to calm down the raging thoughts of terror in your head.

after a moment you quickly pull yourself into Wilbur wrapping your arms around his body.

"thank you," you mumble into his chest.

he chuckles quietly before opening the door behind you.

"let's go back to my apartment and watch some movies, hmmm? would that help?" asks gently leading you down the stairs slowly.

you nod still hiding in his chest, not letting go no matter how difficult walking down the sim takes like this was.

sorry this chapter kinda sucks and that it's so short, but good news for you guys i've already got the next one written as well as it was the chapter that inspired this whole story in the first place.

also i hope you liked the character development i sometimes forget that these are supposed to be real people and not flat background characters with one trait so i had to give y/n some lore.

neways
i love you guys
mad❤️
