Chapter 1: The Symbiote

“GGGRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!” Gwen continued to scream.

Y/N quickly came to terms with what he needed to do. He shot webs past her and launched himself at her, hitting her with his entire body weight. She flew across the sewer as a result and landed on her back.

“Sorry Gwen,” he told her.

“You’re gonna be sorry,” Gwen replied to him as she stood up none threateningly.

“Wait, are you there?” he asked while walking over to her.

“Yes, I am,” she answered now on her two feet.

“Oh, sorry about that. I thought you turned into some kind of monster or some kind of monster took control over you or something,” he explained.

“Eh, I can’t say I blame you,” she replied while looking at her hands. “When I chased down that guy, I managed to catch up and knock him out. After that, I saw this black goo thing. I looked at it not sure what the hell it was. Then it jumped at me and now, here I am.”

“I don’t… what the hell even is that thing?” he asked her.

“Symbiote?” she said questionably.

“Symbiote?” he retorted.

“It told me that it’s a symbiote,” she replied while looking at her hands.

Y/N takes a few steps back. While his spidey sense wasn’t going off, he was still being cautious. “I don’t I trust it. Nor do I think I trust you with that on,” he told her.

Gwen was about to say something but the symbiote jumped off her and clanged onto a wall. Both of them looked at it as it hung there. It forms a face and looks at them. “I understand your caution, Y/N. I would be worried if you weren’t, but I come in peace. I am only a small fraction of my mother. She was captured by these men and now I seek to free her. I only ask for your help. I apologize for just bonding with you like that, Gwendolyn. If you can find it in your hearts, please help me.”

“Before I answer, how the hell do you know our names?” Y/N asked it.

“I was able to see Gwendolyn’s memories when I bonded with her,” it answered.

“Um, alright. So, your mother was captured, huh?” Y/N replied.
“That is correct,” the symbiote answered. Y/N and Gwen look at each other. “I assume that you’ll help me considering that you’re heroes, right?”

They look back at it and conclude. “Yeah, we’ll help you,” Gwen told the symbiote.

“Thank you. In return, I offer you power,” it told them.

Gwen held out her arms, assuming what the goo had in mind. It launches itself off the wall and then re-bonds with her. After bonding, Y/N asks “do I get some of that power?”

“I am sorry, but at this moment I am unable to produce any offspring. So, right now, I can only be bonded with Gwendolyn,” it told him.

“Ah, damn it,” Y/N said.

“Sorry Y/N. And by the way, you can just call me Gwen,” she told the symbiote.

“Noted.”

Y/N picks up the robber and walks out with Gwen with the symbiote. “Also, you got a name?” Y/N asked the symbiote.

“I do not. Nor do I think that’s needed,” the symbiote answered.

“Oh come on, you gotta have a name,” Gwen told it. “What about… Tremble!”

“Hmm… I like it. Sounds… nice,” Tremble replied.

“Perfect!” Gwen retorted.

“Oh, and I need to get a picture of this,” Y/N said. “The Bugle will go crazy for this.”
