You took a sharp inhale of breath, biting the inside of your mouth to muffle the pained sound that would've risen from your throat as Marnie did their best to carefully remove the needles from your skin. It seemed like a rather easy task, but the scaled entity was being a little too careful. The good news, though, was that there were only about six in your arm, so it wasn't too bad. Each tiny rod of sharp metal came out a deep red and you urged yourself to look away from your arm.

"SHIT-" you hissed through clenched teeth, reeling back in pain as you accidentally jerked, which caused Marnie's pawlike hand to slip, driving the needle back in by accident, making another pained noise as he removed it.

"Ah! Sorry!" the 5'5 entity said softly, "my bad! Accident!"

"It's- it's fine, Marnie, that was my bad," you sighed out.

"Sorry...but hey, one more! One left!" Marnie made, trying to give a reassuring smile before going to pull out the final needle, "then you heal!"

"Ah, that's nice..." you stole another sharp intake of breath, wincing as the purple pin was taken out of your arm, exhaling in relief at its absence.

"There go! All done!" Marnie's tail lashed happily before they took their blue-lit lantern out, opening the lid and pushing it towards you, "touch fire," they softly urged, watching you intently.

 "Whuh- what? Won't that- burn???"

"No, no, heal fire! Watch!" the entity softly took your left wrist and you winced as movement was instilled in the sloppily-bandaged wound, tied-up tendon, and a once-broken bone that had been recently-set. They mumbled a quiet apology as they slowly placed the tips of your fingers into the flame.

The fire didn't feel like fire, actually. It felt like you were sticking your hand into a pile of feathers that had been heated up in the sun all day. Or if you had your hands around a very fluffy mug of steaming hot chocolate in front of a fireplace, curled up in a blanket during a cold winter morning. The warmth trailed up your hand and up your arm as if it was traveling through your veins, reaching your arm and making it feel...a lot colder. It mimicked the feeling of raindrops dripping off your shoulders down your arm, and the pain that your injured limb held started to ebb away. The feeling spread across the rest of your body, crawling onto your arm and even the stitches in your side from the last time HABIT took over, having that comfortably cold feeling spread across your other arm, and as you looked over, the small wounds left by the needles had...been closed. There was nothing left, it was as if it'd never happened. In fact, the only thing that proved you were injured was your bloodied shirt and Marnie's hands and one of their sleeves having a small amount of the crimson on them.

As your hand left the fire, you shivered as a wave of cold flew over you again, as if you'd just hopped out of a hot tub and into a pool.

"See? Heal fire! Very neat!" Marnie smiled, before seeing you shiver, "oh- it- side-effect! Makes cold! Uh..." they paused for a second, "oh! I help! Here go!" the scaled entity slid off their large indigo-gray hoodie, holding it out to you. They wore a darker, purple-gray turtleneck sweater underneath with little white, glowing, pearl-like bulbs on the collar that mimicked little fluorescent fairy lights.

"Oh! Uh...thanks," you replied, giving a small smile before sliding the piece of fabric on, feeling the warmth of the fabric somewhat ward-away the cold.
