Maria in a Daze of Smiles

"Guess what Miss Stellen!" I chirped
"What?" She asked, not really playing any attention to me, but to the freshmen running up and down the hallways causing ruckus.
"I am in this class now!" I exclaimed with great excitement, it took all of my will power not to jump up and down and spin around in glory. A smile started to creep into my face when Miss Stellen said, " Where's your schedule form?"
I sighed, I had threw it away the day before, not realizing that I would need it in order to enter the classroom.
" I threw it away miss!" I whined, " I didn't realize that I would need it"
"Oh Estrella," Miss Stellen sighed, "just go inside." She said referring to the classroom.
I hurried inside, "Maria!" I yelled running towards her.
"Estrella!" She said mocking my same tone in my voice.
Maria looked as if she was glowing, her big eyes sparkled. Her long red hair seem to have soft little waves, reminding me of Ariel the mermaids hair. Maria was taller than me so when I came within communicating distance I turned my head slightly upward so she could hear me.
"Maria guess-"
" Estrella!" She interrupted, " I have something to tell you."
"Yea?" I said curiously, I took the seat next to her. I looked into her eyes giving her my undivided attention.
"You remember that guy, right?" She whispered.
"What guy?" Gabriel asks, interrupting me.
"I'm not talking to you Ugly." Maria says sarcastically playfully punching his arm.
"Yea," I agreed, "she was talking to me." I laughed.
"But I want to know!" Gabriel complains.
"Are you a girl?" I ask him.
"No.." He says.
"Then you can't know," I tell him, "sorry."
He frowns and takes the seat next to me. Gabriel is light with dark brown hair. He's average height for a boy, but since I am sshort I think he's tall. His nose is pointy and big. His eyes are a the shape of almonds, his eye lashes are Long but straight. His lips are small, if he smiles it seems like he doesn't have any lips.
"Okay, what were you saying" I resume, "something about a boy?"
"Yes the one in our Biology class" Maria said.
"The new one?" I asked, " what's his name? Ale-"
"Alejandro Mendez" Maria finished for me.
"Yea?"
" That's my ex." She said smiling.
" What!?" I exclaimed, everyone in the class turned around and looked backed at me.
"Alright!" Miss Stellen said as she closed the door behide her, "Time for class to get started."
Everyone's attention went to the teacher.
"You and Alejandro used to be together?" I said not believing it, shocked almost. I don't know why but I couldn't picture Maria with Alejandro. Maybe it was his cockiness that I could see right when he walked into Miss Jankes class, or maybe it was the fact that he he slouches in his chair when he sits down and that doesn't show very good character.
"Yea," Maria said smiling.
A smile only a fool who was I love would make.
At that moment the door opened, and I could tell it was him by the way he his shoes would squeak when he walked, it was Alejandro. He was traveling with the Vice principal Mr. Kendell, "He was lost," Mr. Kendell said.
Alejandro walked in with his black back pack only hanging off of one shoulder.
"Take a seat over here" Miss Stellen said pointing to the seat next to Gabriel. Which was two seats to the left of me and three to the left of Maria. As he walked over he smiled and when he passed by Maria he poked her side making her jump. Even with him three seats away he had Maria is some sort of Trance. I could tell by the way her eyes sparkled. She couldn't resist but stare right into Alejandro's eyes.
Making her look like a complete Idiot.
