"We didn't mean to... barge in."

I sat in the side of the pool and took in the hot summer air. I turned my head up towards Billy's chair where he sat when on lifeguard duty.
He wasn't there.
Maybe he just went to the bathroom.

Ok it's been 20 minutes... Where the fuck is he?

I stood up, grabbed my phone, Billy's jacket and my water bottle and made my way to the staff bathroom. I knocked three times...
"Billy? You in there-" I stopped talking as I realised the door was unlocked. Confused, I went over to the front desk.
"Hi, I'm uhh... Billy's girlfriend. Do you know where he is by any chance?"
"One second." The lady then turned to a clipboard she had on another desk. A few seconds later, she turned back to me and said, "It seems that he actually took an early leave today. Says he had something to take care of?"
What?
I said thank you and left.

Where was he?

I then decided to go to El's house. So basically El came from a lab in Hawkins and she has these really cool powers that pretty much allow her to see where people are and also lets her move things with her mind.

If there was anyone that could help me find Billy... It was her.

Once I got to El's house I was in tears. One of my brother's friends went missing a couple of years ago. We were all petrified. He was found luckily but in this alternate universe called 'The Upside Down.' I didn't want to lose Billy to that place and the monsters that came from it.

Although all that weird stuff stopped when El closed the gate so I don't know how it would happen again.

I knocked in the door to the cabin and was surprised to be greeted by Max.
"Oh my god, y/n what's wrong? Come in." She led me in through the open living room to El's bedroom.
"Y/n! Are you alright?" El asked me jumping off of her bed and rushing towards me to hug me.
We all sat down and I explained everything.

Max looked scared. And i get why. Its her brother, of course she'd be worried.

"I have an idea." El said standing up and heading over to her drawers. She pulled out a black piece of fabric said, "Be quiet," and sat in the middle of the floor. She wrapped the fabric around her head, covering her eyes.

We all sat there... In silence.

"He's in a dark room... With a... Girl..." My sank as El spoke.
"But he isn't in live with her... He's talking to her... Telling her not to worry- telling her to stay calm."
Me and Max turned to each other.
All of a sudden El tore off the blindfold and was suddenly out of breath.
"What? What happened?" I hopped of the bed and sat next to Eleven.
"She... she was drowning." Now we were all scared.

El then proceeded to tell us that this girl was in a lifeguard as-well as Billy.

We all rushed to the swimming pool and looked at the staff pictures on the wall. El pointed her out.
Without anyone seeing we grabbed the photo and headed off.
El found where she lived with her powers and we headed to her house.

Once we got there El opened the door and we walked in. As we turned the corner we heard Billy and this 'Heather' girl's parents joking around and laughing.
"Max? Y/n?" Billy said as he noticed us.
"We didn't mean to... barge in." Max said. "We tried to knock, but... maybe you didn't hear us over the storm."

"I'm sorry, who us this dripping all over my living room right now?" This seemed to be Heathers dad.
Billy laughed slightly, "Im sorry... Janet, Tom... this is my sister, Maxine. And my dead girlfriend, Y/n." Oh shit... Max really did not like being called by her full name. And 'dear girlfriend?'
"Oh!" Janet said.

"What on earth are you doing here?" Billy asked us rising from his seat at the dinner table. "Is something wrong?" He was now right in-front of us.
"We just wanted to make sure everything was okay." Max responded.
"Okay? Why wouldn't it be okay?" El interrupted him, "Where is she?" Well thats one way to ask I guess.

"Im sorry... Where is who?" My boyfriend sounded... different.
"Well, they're a little burnt, Im sorry-" Heather said walking in holding a tray.

"Heather!" Billy exclaimed, "This is my sister, Maxine. And my Girlfriend, Y/n... And, Im sorry, I did not quite catch your name." He said turning towards Eleven.
"El." She said with no facial expression at all.
"El." Billy repeated. "Now what is it you were saying El?" He asked. He was acting really, really weird and I didn't like it at all.
"I- I saw..." El stuttered. She was scared. All three of is were.
"Your manager. At the pool. She said you guys took an early leave today, so we got worried." Max jumped in to help El.
"We left early as Heather wasn't feeling to well-" I cut in, "You left me... without telling me anything."

"Do you girls want a cooke?" Heather said to lighten the mood.

Me, Max and El just left after that. I felt as if I were being cheated on... but I know Billy would never cheat on me... No matter what.
