XI:A Deadland

I awoke again, it seems that the plane is stable again. I get up and see the corpse still lying on the ground, it's the guy that was an ass back in Nevada, the color in his eyes is darker than before. I took a look outside, it seems we landed safely however we're still in the country.

"Hey, how are you doing mike?" 

"Oh, hey Tom, I'm doing ok for now."

"Oh well I know that getting knocked out from the plane hurts like hell, here I'll help you up,"

He lends me his hand and I grab it for stability, I finally stand upright.

"Thanks." I said.

"No problem, come now we must leave." He said.

"What about the corpse over there?" 

"Well we can't take it, the pilot assumes that the airports have now gotten wind of a plane that wasn't checked for dangers and for bounties on the run, so they are bound to look for us."

I walked with Tom out of the airplane, the others were outside waiting for us, we crash landed into a farm or near a farm. There were cars waiting as well, we got in to travel to our new Destination. Originally our plan was to... hell I don't even know what the plan was to begin with...

"Hey Mike, do you notice something strange about this area?" Arthur asked

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"Take a look outside, notice how there's very little essence of life in the area, no lights or a shit ton of people roaming around and the building still looks in good condition.

It does seem strange, a state completely abandoned but the buildings to be unaffected. Just what state is this and what happened for the people to be gone? 

"Yeah, it seems strange now that I think of it. Just what state are we in exactly?" I asked him, meanwhile thinking how did this happen? Are all of the people who once lived here no longer exist?

"I don't have a signal, meaning that I don't know where we are, however the plane's course changed into going left meaning we're still in the country and the state? Your guess is just as good as my." Arthur said.

Damn, we crash landed into random that has no one and no service? Damn, well at least we're in the clear from any threats for now.

"Alright, we're here." The driver announced, me, arthur and two guys we didn't know got out to our temporary base.

"Ah, Mr. Castellanos it's good to see you and your friends arrive safely." The voice that greeted us was Ms. Pendleton."

"Thanks, it's good to see you alive and well." I say.

"Well thank you."

"Do you by chance know which state we are in?"

"You as well haven't figured it out?"

"Wait, are you telling me that not one soul that we have with us has a damn clue to where we are?"

"Unfortunately Yes, as of now that seems to be the case, we tried radio contact with the other planes. However, one plane cutted off Communication with us, it seems that we may have had a traitor and that they could have been the reason why we got shot down. The other two have very faint signals, it's as if this area hasn't been maintaining it's signals and electronic services, it's as if something happened..." She said while thinking about it, that was the main mystery in all of this how and why this area was abandoned, we do not know as of now.

"Damn, so we're in the dark on communications and don't even have an idea where we are, what now?"

"I still haven't thought about a course of action yet, however I can't shake the feeling that something's just not right... anyways come now."

I entered in, instantly I began to feel lightheaded, Wait a minute, Ms. Pendleton!

"Ms Pendleton! Are you okay?"

"I'm..f-f-ffine.. I just need some... some.."

"What is it that you need?"

"Some... some...some...some.."

What the hell is going on? One minute I have my back turned and Ms. Pendleton's on the floor, just slowly being An Incoherent mess. I need to tell the others!

"Guys, Ms Pendleton! Something's wrong with her!"

"W-w-wh....wh...h...huh?...wha..ong.." Henry said, it was all nonsense and just noise...

"Oh shit, not you guys as well!"

Shit what the hell was happening, Henry and the other guy here are just babbling nonsense! Is there anyone here that isn't affected?!

"M-m-mark.." That voice...it was nick!

"Huh? Nick, where'd you come from?!" I said while in shock.

"G-g-go... n-n-n-n...ow..now..efore..be..before..."

"But what's going on? I can't leave you guys, will you all even be alright?"

Nick struggles but stands, he something is his hand but why did he need to stand?

"Wham!"

Nick slapped me across, he fell down again this time without anything in his hand. I feel the paper on my face and I take it out to inspect.

"Something is wrong, the people aren't dead." The scrap note read.

"The people aren't dead?" I mutter to myself, what was that meant to mean? I left the place for now, I needed to find the others, we all had to separate from each other in case someone was watching. Wait, there's a person in the distance! It could be one of our guys, I rush toward the person.

"Hey." I say trying to get his attention, wait why didn't he respond?

"Uggghh.. grr.."

"Hey, are you alright you seem to be making a lot of noises there, pal."

"Grrrr...ohhhhh..."

"Hey! Look at me when I talk to you dammit!"

I forcefully turned him toward me- wait, what the hell..?

"W-what the hell?! Holy shit!"

"Grrrr...Ya!"

"Wham!"

Holy shit! What the hell, the damn guy looks like a decaying corpse! Wait, hold on what exactly happened in this area? Could it be that this.. was an experiment done on a state by the government?

"Ah! Shit, stay away!" I shouted.

It no longer made noise, it only rushed forward at me.

"Bang!"

"Thud!"

"Oh...oh shit..that was close.."

I pulled my gun out in the nick of time, shot the damn thing directly in the head. What the hell could have caused this? Was there anyone even with a possibility of being cured of this...I don't know, hell I don't anyone has the slightest Chance. I search the guy, hold on, he has a scrap of paper! I take from him and look at it, it appears to be a map to a location marked. What could be there that's so important, what do I have to doubt about going here. Jesus now it's become dependent on our survival on that location, damn this better be worth it.
