His Obsession [Trickster x Reader]

Chapter 1

      (Y/n) awoke with a yawn as she covered her face due to the sunlight that peaked through her blinds and obstructed her vision. She sat there for a bit contemplating on if she should stay in bed or get up and be productive, after a bit she finally decided to get up much to her displeasure due to the fact that she remembered she had to actually be an adult and go to work.

She walked over to her dresser and pulled out some clothes before groggily making her way to the bathroom to take a much needed shower, when she walked into the bathroom she looked in the mirror and cringed. "My God" she said in a whisper as she stared at herself, her hair was a mess sticking out in every direction, her eyes looked dead due to her not being fully awake yet, and she still had a bit of drool from her sleep on the corner of her mouth leading down to her chin, it was safe to say she looked like a walking corpse.

She shook her head as she looked away from the mirror and undressed turning on the shower afterwards, she got one last stretch in before stepping into the tub and letting the warm water hit her skin. She sighed and closed her eyes with a slight smile, she always loved a shower in the morning it was the perfect thing to wake her up, plus it also felt like a big warm hug that she never wanted to leave, but much to her dismay she had to get out just as fast as she got in so she wasn't late for her job that payed her way too little especially for how early she was waking up to be there.

She stepped out of the shower, dried herself off and got dressed quickly, she made her way downstairs so she could at least eat something which she decided today was going to be cereal, as she mindlessly poured the cereal she checked the time and saw she had about and hour and a half before she had to get to work, 'That's plenty of time' she thought to herself as she let out a deep sigh while she went to the fridge to grab the milk.

She quickly ate her breakfast while staring out her dining room window without a thought, she had a tendency to space out a lot sometimes it worried people, other times people just called her a freak and walked away. It wasn't her fault that everyone was so boring to the point where she was spacing out all the time, she let out a huff as she finished the last spoonful of cereal before putting the dishes into the sink "I'll just do them later" she whispered to herself as she made her way back upstairs to get ready for work.

She walked into the bathroom and stared at herself for a little before finally brushing her hair to make it look at least decent, she never really did anything to stand out like doing her makeup or anything mainly because she didn't really like people that much so she saw no point in standing out, but that doesn't mean she didn't want to look at least presentable. After she got done fixing her hair she looked at herself fully "There way better" she said with a slight smile.

She made her way into her room to grab her keys and she phone before making her way back downstairs and out her front door, as she closed the door behind her she took a deep breath in before turning around and locking the door. She made her way over to her car, unlocking it and getting in. "Morning" someone called to her left causing her to jump a bit and jolt her head in that direction, upon seeing her neighbor Katie she calmed down a bit. "Oh Hello" Y/n called back with a forced smile and a wave "I wish i could talk Katie but i really got to get to work, sorry!" She yelled over to her neighbor, that was lie. If anything she was gonna be there before everyone else, but nonetheless her neighbor believed her "Oh I see sorry then, we'll talk later!" Katie yelled back with a smile "Yea sure" Y/n said before abruptly closing her car door "Not." she said to her self as she rolled her eyes and turned on her car.

It's not like Katie did anything wrong to Y/n she was one of the nicer people to her actually, it's just Y/n never really liked people no matter who it was and she always tried her best to be polite to people like Katie but damn was it really getting annoying. She sighed as she backed out of her driveway completely ignoring the wave Katie did as she sped off towards her workplace, she tapped her finger lightly against the steering wheel to the song that was faintly playing on the radio. Soon enough she pulled into her workplace's parking lot, she worked at a little supermarket near the edge of town, pretty funny right? A girl who hates people works as a cashier. She made her way up to the doors and walked into the store and as she thought before she was indeed the first one there as always, she made sure she was the first there everyday so she wouldn't have to deal with all the 'Hellos' from her fellow coworkers, she steadily made her way to the employee's only room at the back of the store where she put on her name tag and tied her hair up with a sigh, "Let's get this day over with." she said to herself as she made her way back to the register where a person was already waiting for her.

"About damn time." a rude voice sounded as she scanned his items 'Hmm' Y/n hummed as she raised her eyebrows in annoyance. If this was her first customer today she knew that today was going to be absolutely shit as it was only 8:30 in the morning and she already wanted to go home and go back to sleep. Once she finished scanning the man's items she finally spoke, "That'll be 26 dollars and 49 cents" she said with a bored expression. The man looked at her before handing her his card "Yknow you should smile more-" he said with a chuckle "A pretty girl like you shouldn't be frowning so much." he said finishing his very unappealing sentence, she finished scanning his card and getting him all ready to leave before saying with a sigh "With all due respect sir i do not care what you think of me." She stated putting her hand on her hip "Now will you please take your things and go because i am not in the mood to deal with you." She said making eye contact with him something she rarely did unless she was really annoyed.

"Jeez fine-" the man said in and offended tone "I was just trying to give you a compliment" he said eyeing her up and down with a scowl "That i never asked for" Y/n added in a 'matter or fact' tone before giving him and obvious fake smile as she gestured towards the door. The man rolled his eyes as he made his way out, while he was walking out Y/n heard him say "fucking bitch" under his breath which made her laugh a bit, she hadn't laughed in god knows how long.

The day continued pretty slowly as she got more annoying customers but some were alright, like the ones who just wanted to buy their things and go. She hated the ones that constantly flirted with her though, boy did it make her blood boil over the fact that they had that amount of audacity to even approach her in that manner. She was more than glad to finally clock out after being there for god knows how long.

When she finally was in her way back home it was around dinner time so she ate and then just sat there for a bit, or so she thought at least. A bit turned out to be an hour or two just starting into blank space by the time she came back to it it was pretty dark outside. 'hmm' the thought to herself 'i'm not that tired i'm probably going to go for a walk to tire me out' she thought as she got up and put that set of dishes in the sink as well before pulling on a thin jacket and putting on her shoes as she headed out the door.

The night was pretty peaceful aside from the chilly weather, she breathed in the fresh air as she slowly walked along the sidewalk with a small smile on her face, she always loved the night time over day time, but it wasn't the fact that it was dark like most people would think. She liked it because of how still everything was, how it was so quiet sometimes you could hear a pin drop. Letting out a sigh as she closed her eyes and decided to let her feet take she wherever, after a long while of walking she heard crunching from underneath her feet, furrowing her eyebrows in confusion and opening her eyes she came face to face with the woods. She doesn't know how or why she had walked all the way over here, hell she'd never even seen this woods before. 'Was it behind all the big buildings that lined the street?' she asked herself turning around only to be met with more forest, her breathing started picking up as reality had finally sunk in. She was lost.
