Chapter 10: Moving out

"Congratulations, you have finished your rehab early. Your body is healthier than most people." the family doctor said to him.

Ryan breathes in relief. It's been 3 months since he transmigrated,but he couldn't get his alone time. His rehab finally ended. 2 weeks ago his doctor cleared him for normal activity. He has since had a talk with his father about moving out of his house.

"Isn't it normal dad, besides, Long Island is for old people. If I stay in New York it's easier for me to commute."

His father got him a penthouse in Brooklyn after a discussion. It's in Brooklyn Heights, therefore it's easy for him to commute to NYU. He just needs to cross the Brooklyn Bridge.

He didn't reject it as he knows his father is watching out for him. After driving a Knights X-series luxury sports car, he went to his new house. He left a present for his father in his room that he asked his father to check it out.

"Why didn't you give it to me yourself?" Tim asked. This little kid is acting all mysterious. His son is a little different nowadays. He sometimes notices that his son may unconsciously keep a distance from other people. He didn't say much about it as he sees that the kid is trying.

It's like he's uncomfortable being with other people. Maybe that is why he wants to move out. He is not sure that moving out is the right move, but seeing Ryan's determination, he accepted the result.

After waving his son off, and seeing Hiddle wiping his tears with a handkerchief, Tim went to his room to find the present. There's a few documents on his son's desk tied together with a ribbon.

Hiddle followed Tim from behind. "It's what he's been working on." 

The butler was aware of the kid's effort. Ryan has been working on it everyday since he asks for the data.

Untying the ribbon, Tim was shocked after he read the document. It entails a new design for a twin turbo V6 engine, framework for smart car design, new material for chassis, modified suspension and new modification that will make Knight industry become the frontrunner in the luxury sport automobile industry.

Even a modified NA engine was included. That's not all. A design for new cars and F1 race cars is also there. The 300 page document covers it all.

He also includes several new technologies for material processing, vacuum arc melting furnaces, large hydraulic press for new alloy, basic framework and code for GPS system, in which his father needs only a little work to complete it. It can be done by the company.

Ryan was torn to give his father complete technology rather than design and theories. But he did this to ensure that his father didn't think he copied the design from somewhere. He made it look like he thought about it during his stay.

He even makes some scribbles, wrong equations that he scratches out to make a new one so that it looks more genuine. Call him faker or sociopath all you like, but he doesn't want to become high profile.

Tim is absorbed in reading the document. Hiddle was puzzled seeing as it was rare for Tim to be silent. He asked, "What is it?". 

Tim snaps out of it and said excitedly, "My son's a genius!"

He can use this to restore the board member's confidence. Ryan's ideas will make the company get out of crisis after some verification. 

"He gave us a new car, and new technologies. All of it are theories for now, but it's had a solid foundation. The modification is written in detail making our work easier"

Only three months but he can make what 10 R&D teams couldn't make in five years. He knew that his son was a good student in school, but not to this level. There's also a CD and a small, rectangular device next to it with a note. 'the CD and the drive also contains something - XOXO Ryan'
