Chapter 2

Nami's POV

I came downstairs to eat my breakfast where my mother Bell-mère was waiting for me for a big twenty minutes. I couldn't get up so easily that morning because yesterday I stayed up way too late thinking about many things. Money, my friends, my family and a certain boy.

This boy I met yesterday stayed up in my mind for too long yesterday after we talked. I don't know why but I felt he was so different from the other boys I've met so far, even though he was "basic".

I saw my mom on the couch reading a book. "Good morning Bell-mère." I said as I sat at the table to eat my breakfast.

"Good morning sweetie, how are you doing today, slept well?" Said Bell-mère

"Yes mom, thanks for making breakfast for me" I said

"No problem, it's always a pleasure to make breakfast for my lovely daughter. I made eggs, bacon, toasts and potatoes for you" Said Bell-mère

"Yeah I know thanks mom. By the way do you work today?" I asked her

"Yes I work today at 1pm, I'm going to come back home late tonight, so I you need anything, call me." Bell-mère said

"It's okay mom.. I'm not a child you know? I'm already an adult, I'm 18." I said

"Yeah that's true, I still can't believe my daughters have grown so much, time sure flies, huh? She said

"Mom, you're so cringe, stop please..." I said

"I can't show my love to my daughter anymore, can I?" Bell-mère said

"Whatever.." I said

Bell-mère was working as a police officer, Nojiko and I when were found in a burning hotel when we were 1 and 5 years old. Having no parents, she decided to adopt us and raise us.

Nojiko got to know her biological parents but since I was only 1 when I was found in that building, I've never known who my parents were, but honestly, I didn't really care about it, I was happy with Bell-mère and Nojiko.

"Bell-mère, where is Nojiko right now? I didn't see her this morning." I said

"She spent the night at a friend's house, but I believe it's a boy and she's trying to hide it from me. I don't understand though, why would she hide it? She's 23 years old." She said

"You believe Nojiko has a boyfriend?" I said

"I think so, she's always somewhere else and pretends it's just a friend's house, do you spend every nights at your friend's house, Nami?" Bell-mère said

"I mean.. I do spend a lot of nights at Vivi's house, so what's the difference?" I asked

"I just know it Nami, when you're gonna have children, you're going to develop a supernatural instinct with your children" She said

"Whatever.. I'm not planning on having kids anyway." I said as I ate my breakfast and stuffed the rest of the food that was in my plate in my mouth.

I stood up, took my bag and walked towards the door. "I'm going now, mom, see you tomorrow"

"Okay bye sweetie" Bell-mère said

I left the house,hopped on my scooter and drove all the way to school.

When I was there, I saw Luffy playing around with his friends. Seeing him laugh like a child and make funny faces with his friends made me smile.
