MELISSA HARRINGTON
He was supposed to call. Eddie always calls. Last night, he had a D&D campaign but then he said he would call. All night, I read my book in bed, waiting for his call. But it never came. I love Eddie and he loves me. So I know he can be forgetful. But usually that's with homework or his band practice. But things that matter to him, he never forgets. That's why it was so strange when he never called. I woke up this morning and decided to bike over to his trailer. I'm sure the campaign just ran late and he fell asleep. I got up and got dressed and grabbed my bag. Then I headed downstairs. Mom and Dad were already gone for a spring break trip and Steve, my brother, would be taking care of me for the 3 weeks. Steve and I are close. Closer than most siblings. But we've been through a lot. Hawkins isn't a normal town. The world has almost ended twice and would have if not for El. First, it was the lab and the gate. Then it was the damn Russians. But everything seems to be back to normal.
"Where do you think you're going?" Steve asked. "Eddies." I said. He cocked an eyebrow. "It's only 10am." he said. "So?" I said. "So he's probably not even awake yet." he said. I rolled my eyes. "Steve, you barely know Eddie." I said. "I don't even know what you see in him. He's lazy and clearly not very smart-" he started. "Steven, you work at a movie rental store. I don't think you have the right to judge Eddie." I said. "I just mean- you could have any guy you want. Why him?" he asked. I shrugged. "I love Eddie. I just- he's nice to me. And he understands me." I said. Steve nodded. "If he makes you happy, fine." he said. I nodded. "Call the store if you need a ride or anything." he said. I smiled. "Bye," I said. I got on my bike and started to ride to the trailer park across town. I figured while I was there I could also visit Max and see how she's doing. As I rode, I enjoyed the sun. When I finally got to the trailer park, my stomach lurched. I saw police cars and new cameras surrounding Eddie's trailer. I dropped my bike and ran over. "Eddie!" I yelled. "Miss, you can't be here." a police officer said. "Where's Eddie? What happened? Is he ok?" I asked. "You need to leave." the officer said. "Where's Eddie?!" I yelled. "Melissa, hey. Calm down!" Wayne said. Eddie's uncle pulled me aside and my heart was racing. "Where's Eddie?" I said. "I- I don't know." he said. "Is he- what's wrong? What happened?" I asked. Just then, I saw it. Chrissy was being wheeled out. She was dead. My eyes widened and I felt sick. "Have you seen my boy? Have you seen Eddie?" Wayne asked. I looked at him, tears pricking at the corners of my eyes. "Eddie- no, I haven't. They think he did that?" I asked. He nodded. "He didn't. There's no way. Eddie would never- he wouldn't hurt anyone, ever. I mean- even people who beat him up at school, he never hits them back. He would never do that." I said. "I know. Hey, I know." he said. "I have to find him." I said. He nodded. "I can't leave. They need me to stay. Go find my boy." he said. "I will. I know he didn't do this." I said. Wayne nodded. I got on my bike and pedaled off. I got to the video store and burst in. "Mel, what's wrong?" Steve asked. "It's Eddie." I said. "We know." Dustin said. He popped up and so did Max. "I saw." Max said. "But he didn't do it. I know he didn't." I said. "We have to find him." I said. "Do you have any idea where he hangs out, Mel?" Steve asked. "His trailer, he hangs out with the people from his campaign and he has band practice at the garage." I said. "Good. That's good." Dustin said. Then we began the search.
JASON CARVER
"I'm sorry, son. She's gone." the officer said. They left and my sadness quickly turned to rage. "Jason, whatever you need, we're here for you." Paul said. I turned to them, clenching my fists. "I want that freak that killed Chrissy dead." I said. "Done. Let's do it." Andy said. We checked the trailer park first and he wasn't there. After looking everywhere, we realized the coward ran. "How do we find him now!?" I yelled. "We could ask that pretty girlfriend of his." Chance said. They all grinned. "Where is she?" I asked. "She's probably with her brother at the video store." Andy said. The next thing I knew, we were on our way to kidnap someone.
STEVE HARRINGTON
"Ok, this better wrap up quickly because we're going to get busy soon." Robin said. "Where else could he be, Mel? Think." I said. She chewed on her lip and fidgeted with the necklace Eddie gifted her. "Rick. He gets his pot from Rick. He could be hiding there." she said. I nodded. "Does anyone know where this-" Max started. Just there, there was a loud screeching outside and her bike hit the wall. "Seriously!" Melissa yelled. She ran outside and I heard a scream. "Mel?" I said. I ran outside and my heart stopped. I saw my sister being shoved into a van by a bunch of people in masks. "Steve!" she screamed. The sliding door slammed shut and I ran. The van started driving off and my fingers just grazed the tail light. "Mel!" I screamed. I panted for breath as I watched them speed away. "What just happened?" Robin asked. "Someone just kidnapped my sister." I choked out. "We should call the cops." Robin said. We ran inside but Dustin was on the phone. "It's for you." he said. I held the phone to my ear and it was a mans voice. "We have your sister. Don't call the cops or we'll kill her." he said. "I just want her back, I won't tell anyone." I said. "We'll give her back when she tells us where Eddie Munson is." he said. Then he hung up. Fuck, I'm so fucked.
