The following morning, Perry got dressed and went to the visitors room, he wore a white turtleneck sleeve and a black suit jacket over it with a black office trouser.

He directly walked inside the spare room without knocking. He saw Vee asleep, her hair all over her face. He tried waking her up.

"Are you going to sleep all day?" he asked her.

She opened her eyes and looked at him in disdain, "you know I hate being woken up too early" she said as she put the pillow over her face and let out a muffled scream.

"It's past 8, go make yourself something to eat, I'm off" he said before leaving the room.

He gently closed the door, got his car keys by the TV shelf and left the house.

Vee was tossing, turning and just couldn't fall back asleep. Damn it! She cursed. And directly sat up on the bed.

She picked up her phone and viewed her messages. She saw series of messages from Derian.

'You didn't tell Malcolm you were back?'
'Why did you ask Perry not to show up for Malcolm's video?'
'It'll help him too, you know?'
'You should really think about it'
'By the way, you should be careful when you go around'

Vee was confused, she left her phone on the table without answering any of the messages and went to the bathroom, she took her toothbrush and brushed her teeth.

She finished and went directly to the kitchen, she brought a pack of cereal from  the kitchen shelves.

She got a bowl and took a bottle of milk from the refrigerator. She  poured the cereal in the bowl, poured the milk and took a spoon. She went back to the visitor's room, searched her bag and brought out a chocolate bar. She opened it and broke it in the cereal.

She went back to the living room with her phone and ate while replying Derian's messages.

'He knows already, I didn't ask Perry to not participate in Malcolm's video, he didn't want to'

Derian's messages came immediately, 'then convince him to, it'll be good for his reputation, you know?'

'Yeah, I know' she sent the message, kept her phone and finished her cereal.

She washed her dishes and went back to the living room. She picked her phone and saw a text from Malcolm. 'I'll be there soon, get ready.' She stared at the messages for a while.

She texted back, 'I'm very busy today, I'm not even home right now'

It took a while before he replied, 'get ready'

She looked at the message and slumped on the couch. She kept her phone, feeling  dispirited.

Malcolm smiled after sending his texts, he got clothes from his closet. He stood in front of the mirror and brushed his hair backwards, he let it fall down his face again, unable to decide.

He left the walk-in closet putting on a big blue checkered long sleeve shirt with a black hoodie and a baggie black trouser with no pockets. He put on an Armani wrist watch, he was feeling quite excited.

He left his house and locked the door. Got in his car and zoomed off.

His car was parked at Perry's house, he did not come down in fear of being spotted by a fan. He didn't want to alert Vee till it was time.

He looked at his phone, it was 10:42am. He leaned on the steering wheel, 18 minutes left. He was tempted to text her and give her a little scare. She was obviously not ready. He texted, 'why aren't you ready yet?'

*****
In the house, Vee had just come out of the bathroom, she had a towel strapped to her chest and was drying her hair with another towel when her phone vibrated.

She picked it up and was frightened. She quickly rushed to the window and looked outside. There wasn't anything out of the ordinary, just a car that was not there before but she did not give it much thought.

Malcolm has always been imposing his laws on her, so she thought he could be outside the door waiting on her. She sighed with relief. She remembered him being sweet though, but those are just memories now.

She thought about the day she went shopping at the university and saw Malcolm at the supermarket. He saw her and went ahead to greet her and they chatted while getting things from the shelves.

She picked a jug of milk and put it in the cart and he added one more. And they went just like that. Whatever she puts in the cart, he added one more. Then she remembered the last thing on her list she wanted to buy. Her face suddenly turned crimson red, she stopped in place and looked at Malcolm as if saying to excuse her but he did not understand. She could not just stand there and just walked to the shelf and got a packet of tampon, her hands trembling. Malcolm looked at her and could not help but smirk at her shyness. He added two more packet of tampons.

She looked away from him and gave awkward laughs. They got to the checkout, he paid for everything and they parted ways at the supermarket door.

Times are different now. She thought.

She calm her nerves and replied the message. 'I told you I'm busy, I have a lot of plans and I'm already out.' She finished drying her hair, wore a big white T-shirt with an animated picture of SpongeBob on it and lay on the bed.

She was playing a game on her phone when she heard the doorbell.

She got up to open the door, she was frozen in place when she spotted the person at the door.
