Hello everyone!

It's been a very long time since I've posted anything on my account and it feels very surreal to be posting again! I started writing on Wattpad when I was a literal child and, now, I'm a grown woman in her twenties (gross).

During the first lockdown, I read Call Me By Your Name for the first time. And then I read it again. And again. From the moment I picked it up, I was absolutely enamoured by it and its beautiful prose and atmosphere. I was seventeen when I first read it, just about to turn eighteen, so I was in the same stage of my life as Elio. I just really connected with it, even though age is pretty much where the similarities between Elio and I end. And then, I read the sequel.

Needless to say, I was not a fan of Find Me. To me, it felt lazy, inauthentic and, quite frankly, disrespectful to the original. My intention is not to bash the original author, André Aciman, in this note, so I will leave it at that. And so, filled with disappointment from the endings that characters I'd fallen in love with were given, I decided to write my own sequel.

After the news regarding one of the stars of the movie adaptation came to light last year, I really lost the drive to continue writing and left the book unfinished. Recently, I came across it again, gave it a read, and remembered why I loved cmbyn so much and why I wanted to give the characters justice. Originally, I was just writing for myself, with no intentions to post it anywhere, but then, I remembered how much I used to love the community of Wattpad and the joy I got from sharing my work. So, I wrapped up some loose ends, gave it an quick edit, and, about two years after I started writing it, I'd finished my sequel.

Hearts and Bodies is a sequel to the Call Me By Your Name book. You can probably still follow it if you've only seen the movie, but it follows the timeline of the book. It takes place around the time of Oliver's final visit at the end of the original, twenty years after he and Elio first met. I tried to take inspiration from the Find Me novel, with characters such as Michael (Michel in the book) and his arc, so if you've read it, you may notice that. In my mind, this is what Find Me should've been.

With all that said, I really hope you enjoy it. Please do give it a vote and a comment if you like it- I love seeing your guys' feedback. Thank you all!

It's nice to be back.
