"Okay, enough," Remy said, picking up the remote and pausing the movie.

Virgil blinked, pushing themself off of Remy's chest, confused, "What?" they murmured quietly.

"You've been mopey all week babe, which is perfectly fine, but this clearly isn't helping you feel better,"

Virgil looked embarrassed, shoulders rising to their ears, "I– I don't know what you mean,"

Remy raised their eyebrow in their signature, "nice try" look, "Oh please, you've barely been paying attention, it's The Black Cauldron, you always mouth along!"

"Sorry," Virgil sighed, sinking back into the couch

"Don't be sorry, I just figured we might as well try something else since this isn't really making you feel better,"

"I mean... like what?" Virgil shrugged, "I know I'm no fun right now. I mean you don't have to hang out if you don't want to."

Remy raised their eyebrow again, "Babe. We talked about this. I won't offer to do anything I don't want to,"

Virgil relaxed a little, at least, but they still looked stressed, "Yeah, yeah, I know," they muttered.

"So now we gotta figure out what the hell we wanna do," Remy said, kicking their legs up and over to rest in Virgil's lap.

Virgil rolled their eyes at Remy's antics, "We can do whatever, I don't care," they grumbled, resting their hands on Remy's legs.

Remy hummed a little, tapping their fingers on their chest. Virgil didn't mean to zone out, but their brain really wasn't on and rubbing their hand back and forth on Remy's jeans was really nice and–

"Aha!" Remy yelled, sitting up.

Virgil startled, coming back to reality, "What?" they whispered.

Remy seemed to realize how loud they had been because they turned to Virgil with a sheepish grin, "Sorry, babes, didn't mean to be so loud," Virgil shrugged. Remy still seemed to feel bad, pushing themself up to brush away Virgil's bangs to place a kiss on their forehead, "So I was thinking," they said, pulling away but keeping a hand cradling Virgil's face, "We should go to this cool-ass pumpkin patch!"

Virgil's face lit up a little, "Is it like, Halloween themed?" they asked.

"Ya know it!" Remy exclaimed.

Virgil tried to hide their excitement, smirking and shrugging, "That sounds cool, or whatever. What uh, what do they have to do?"

"All the usual pumpkin patch stuff I guess. Hayrides with like, real horses, a really shitty haunted house, bobbing for apples–"

Virgil shook their head, "Bobbing for apples is just waterboarding yourself for others' entertainment. I'm good,"

"What?" Logan exclaimed from the kitchen, peaking his head around the corner to look at Virgil.

"You heard me," Virgil said, smirking.

Logan shook his head, a hint of a smile on his face as he returned to the kitchen.

"I'm not wrong," Virgil shrugged.

Remy snorted, "Anyways," they continued, "the best part is the corn maze, it's pretty cool, plus if you can make it out you get a free pumpkin,"
