"I can't find my phone." Laila glared at Faria who looked at her sheepishly. Her teeth on display as she gave her a pleading look.
Help me find it please.
Both Moiz and Faria dragged her to their university's function against her will. Some threats, blackmailing on Moiz's behalf and Faria's pleading eyes were enough for Laila to give in to them.
So here she stood, among screaming crowd, glaring at her idiot of a friend. Loud music deafened her ears yet she loved her friends enough to not complain every minute.
Laila looked at innocent face of girl in front of her. Her heart melted seeing the childish plea in her friend's eyes. So she just shook her head before tenderly glancing back at her.
"I will call from my phone and look around the cafe area. " She stopped and looked around for a moment. "You go with moiz and call from his phone. Someone may pick up. Look in washrooms, we were there last time."
Faria squealed before hugging her tightly and went away with Moiz on tail who kept glaring her stupidity.
Walking towards the cafe area she kept dialing Faria's number and looked around for any trace of Faria's phone.
Half an hour passed before she got a message from Faria saying she found her phone and asked her to come to area behind their classes where both of them were waiting for her.
But no one was there when she reached the place. The loud blaring of music and harsh wind blowing against her sent a chill down her spine.
No human in sight.
Something was wrong. Realization of being tricked dawned upon Laila like a boulder being thrown over her. But it was too late to get out as she sensed another presence behind her.
With a silent pray to Allah for help as her only weapon, she turned around to see the last person she expected to see here.
Wide eyes she stared at the person in front of her as she took a step back from him.
"You..." Words stuck in her throat she tried to compose herself as much as she could.
"It's me Laila." The person smiled at her and took a step towards her making her step backwards.
"How are you here?"
"That's not the way to greet the person you've met after such a long time Laila."
The sense of being in danger was clear to Laila yet she managed to let out a humorless laugh out of her lips. He covered the distance between them as she kept making more and more between them. "You were warned to stay away from me Hanan."
"How can a butterfly stay away from such a mesmerizing flower Laila?"
"You messaged me from Faria's phone." She gritted her teeth in frustration, her sweaty hands clutching her pants in a tight grip.
