Fear is an ugly monster which chocks its prey under its lethal claws. It hunts carefully, eats our insides  painfully slowly and burns us under its searing flames. The same fear clawed Laila's heart as she stared at person who stole her dignity away just a night ago. It chocked her making it difficult for her to breath.

Her vision turned blurry as she tried to take long breaths grasping as much air as she can, even that turned so hard.

She didn't want to see this man.

He would do same to her again.

No one will help her.

She wanted to scream but all those words homed in her mind just as her pathetic thoughts for it felt difficult to even breath.

"Laila." It was such a familiar voice yet it felt so distant. "What happened?" Frantic, worried and confused, it questioned her so tenderly.

"She's having panic attack Aswad. " Another familiar voics but this time she didn't want it close to her. " Make her sit." So soft, so feminine.

What happened to her?  Who touched her? It all went hazy when she found gentle hends making her sit on a soft surface.

"Breath." The same voice guided her. "Count backward to ten."

She did as told.

"You are okay. " It soothed her. " I am here with you."

"Get him out of my sight Aswad." Words flowed out of her lips as soon as she found her voice back. "Please. "

"Enough, she is fine now." Her father's authoritive voice made Aswad glare at him with such burning intensity which made even Dur-e -Fishan cower beside her husband.

"What we wanted to say that-" A new voice spoke making Laila look up at woman similar to her rapist. "-what happened last night would bring nothing but a stain to your family's name Mr Jabbar."

Aswad's head jerked toward the woman who looked at Laila cautiously. A dangerous glint shined in his eyes daring the woman to utter more. "And who is to blame here? If you don't want your son dead at spot then take him away from here right now."

"Aswad, I am the one to talk here."

"Most respectfully fuck you and your fucking talks, baba." Aswad's glare transferred to the person who he had to unfortunately call his father. "You should have this bastard behind the bars immediately instead of sitting here talking with his parents."

"It would be best for our children to Marry each other. "

There, the woman finally dropped the bomb. A last straw to Aswad's patience before he finally erupted and stood uo to his feet ready to pounce at his unwanted guests.

"How dare you say that?" His words slow, so lethal. He looked ready to kill for his sister.

"No one would want to marry a girl who-" she looked at Aswad cautiously before continuing again. "-whose dignity got stained. Our son is the one who did it so-"

"GET OUT. "

"Okay." Everyone looked at Jabbar wide eyed who only stared at his daughter's paling face. "Your son is the criminal here,  so he will have to be the one to marry my daughter."

"Baba-"

"Enough Aswad, my decision is final."

"How can you-"

"THAT'S ENOUGH I SAID ASWAD."

"No it's not."

Hanan looked at Laila, a wicked glint in his eyes as he gave her a promising smile.

A rapist still was not ashamed of his actions.

"We will hold nikkah soon."

"As you say Mr Jabbar."

Laila look at his brother's raging face,  at Dur-e-Fishan's crying figure, her father stoic face and her mother's tear stained one beside her husband.

Her eyes then travelled to the reason behind her misery who gave her a taunting smile. Words were not needed when his eyes screamed what he wanted to convey to Laila. He tilted his head to side as Laila looked at him blankly.

I promised I wouldn't leave you behind Laila.

I promised I wouldn't leave you behind Laila
