Chapter 17: Daemonium Ivy

"And that's what happened." Bestie said as she finished explaining to Selever's parents and grandparents what had happened.

"Beep ske doo bop ba. (Chills, vomiting, headaches, stomachaches and fainting are all symptoms of poisoning.)" Sweetheart beeped. "Beep ske bloop ba? (But demons can't be affected by poison, can they?)"

"The only poison that can affect a demon, immortal or not, is Daemonium Ivy." Sarv said. "Someone must've put it in Selever's drink when you weren't looking."

"Eet hat to haf been Daddy Dearesd." Ruv said.

"Beep bo? (Is there a cure?)" Sweetheart asked.

"Fortunately, yes." Rasazy said. "I've read about it. The only ones who know the cure to Daemonium Ivy and how to make it are the ones who make the poison, which magical beings can do simply by mixing angel blood and salt and enchanting it to remove the taste."

"Daddy Dearest put blood and salt in...ew!" Rsch said.

"Beep bo. (I'll get it.)" Sweetheart beeped.

"Can I come with you?" Bell asked. Sweetheart nodded.

"Can I come veeth you as vell?" Ruv asked. Sweetheart, again, nodded.

"You have until midnight to get the antidote." Sarv said. "You have 3 hours left."

"Beep. (Got it.)" Sweetheart said before teleporting her and Bell to her house.

"I'm not telling you the cure." DD said.

"Beep ske doo ba? (Can you please tell us the cure to Daemonium Ivy?)" Sweetheart beeped. "Beeeeeeeeeeep? (Pleeeeeeeeeeeeease?)"

"No." DD said. Ruv grabbed the ex-rockstar by his collar and punched him in the face. Sweetheart gasped, covering her mouth with her hands from shock.

"VAT. EES. DA CURE?" Ruv asked angrily.

"You're gonna have to do more than punch me in the face to get me to talk bi-" DD was cut off by Ruv wrapping his hand around DD's neck and squeezing the air out of Sweetheart's grandfather.

"Dad, stop!" Bell said.

"I veel nod hesitade do keel you reet on da spot if you don't tell me da cure." Ruv said. "So tell me da cure ant I weel spare you."

"It's in the kitchen cupboard." DD wheezed. "It's stored in a plastic water bottle with clear liquid. Give Selever a glass of it."

"He's telling the truth." Bell said. Ruv let go of DD, who fell to the ground. Sweetheart went to the kitchen, stepping over her grandfather and opening the cupboard. Once she had found the bottle and took it, she teleported her, Ruv and Bell back to the church.

"That's the antidote?" Sarv asked, eyeing the bottle.

"Beep. (Yup.)" Sweetheart beeped before going to the kitchen to get a glass.

"Daddy Dearest said that we should give Selever a glass of whatever the substance in that bottle was." Bell said.

"How'd you get Daddy Dearest to give you the cure?" Rsch asked.

"I may or may nod haf punched him een da face ant choked him." Ruv said.

"WHAT?!" Partner and Bestie asked.

"We've talked about this Ruv." Sarv said. "I get that you're mad at Daddy Dearest, but violence isn't the answer."

"Hov else vas I supposed do ged him do dalk?" Ruv asked. Sweetheart came back with a glass in hand. She went over to her childhood friend and love interest, who was laid on the couch, and gave him the antidote. After a few seconds, Selever regained consciousness and got up.

"Roach?" Sweetheart smiled, tears forming in her eyes, and hugged Selever. "Wha-"

"Dearest poisoned your drink." Krus said. "Luckily, he made an antidote."

"Why'd he make a [funking] antidote?" Selever asked. "The purple [blip] wanted to kill me with that poison."

"You and Sweetheart ordered the same drink." Partner said. "Grandpa Dearest cares a lot about me, my sisters, our mom, and Grandma Mearest. He was definitely afraid that he'd put the poison in the wrong drink and end up poisoning Sweetheart instead of Selever."

"Beep ske doo ba. (We should probably get going now.)" Sweetheart beeped.

"See you around guys." Bestie said. Selever and his family bade Sweetheart, Bestie and Partner goodbye as the siblings walked out.
