Him Again

That evening as I was getting ready to go out with Taylor and Sasha, my mind kept turning to a blue-green eyed man. Standing back I checked myself in the mirror. I had decided on a full black outfit. Black skinny jeans with a black tank top, adding some color with my blood red heels, a touch of pink lip-gloss, not a fan of lipstick with eyeliner and dark eye shadow finished my look. My hair was easy, I had washed it and blow dried it to a soft finish. Giving myself a thumbs up I collected my red clutch bag and was about to get my car keys when my phone rang.

‘Sky, we are outside,’ was Taylor’s greeting when I picked up.

‘Ok, let me just collect my car keys,’ I replied as I looked around my room.

There was a giggle and a laugh in the background before Taylor was back on the phone, ‘no, dummy. Leave your car, that’s why we are here to pick you up. Wanna see you with your hair down today?’

‘Are you sure?’ I asked, holding my keys and playing with them. I really did want to have fun tonight, and not worry about the driving.

‘Yes!’ a collective reply came. I could make Taylor’s and Sasha’s voices and what seemed to be Travis and Landon.

‘Ok, already! I don’t want to go deaf with that chorus. Let me just lock up and I will be down in a sec,’ I disconnected the call and placed my car keys in the safe behind my bathroom mirror. A friend of mine was the one who chose that place, saying that no one ever thinks of looking there. Mind you, my neighborhood is safe. I have been living in the same place for the past four years and never heard about a break in. But, as my foster mother used to say, you could never be too careful. And yes, I was a foster child. My parents died when I was pretty young. Dad died first of a heart attack and mom followed a year after. I guess she could not cope with the death of her husband. I was one of the lucky few who is placed in a great home where you are given every opportunity to better yourself. I thank God everyday for what Mrs. Shaw did for me, and pray that she is in heaven where she belongs.

After collecting my red crop jacket and activating the alarm, I walked out and locked my door. On the opposite of my drive parked the same jeep I has seen Taylor coming out from just a few minutes ago. Steering myself from rolling my eyes I commanded my legs to move, knowing full well this was a carefully-if not subtle-laid plan between Taylor and Sasha to get me with Jayden. And speaking of Jayden, he had his eyes on me the whole time I made my way to the car, making my knees feel like knocking together.

‘You sit in front with Jayden,’ Sasha told me as I got to the door, she was cuddling with Landon.  ‘We are making out at the back so you keep Jayden company in the front seat.’

Rolling my eyes, I opened the door and jumped in. ‘Hi,’ I smiled at Jayden as I told my heart to cool it down. In the space of two seconds I took in his appearance, and I nearly drooled. He was dressed in black denim with a grey shirt that was a bit tight, showing his ripped muscles. I couldn’t see his shoes. Catching myself, I looked up only to blush and turn away when I met up with his eyes.

Jayden tilted his head and raised an eyebrow, ‘good?’

I smiled as I looked out of the window and nodded, ‘good.’ My voice came out breathless and I closed my eyes.

The place we chose to go, well coerced by the guys, was a new and upcoming club. A lot of the young people found it a great place. It had VIP areas as well as a restaurant right at the top floor. It was just great. After discarding our jackets, the ladies and I headed to the restroom to freshen up.

‘You bitches are going to pay for this,’ I growled at them playfully.

They broke into laughs, hugging me from each side. ‘You will thank us tomorrow when you wake up all sore and happy after a night full of passion in those huge arms of his.’ Taylor placed a kiss on my hair and moved to the mirrors for reapplying her makeup.
