Dw I didn't forget abt this fic

The same conversations were repeated. Everyone was doing the same tasks again, not knowing that their destiny had already been mapped out by the stars without their consent, and Aesop watched it like a play performed again before his eyes. He was still baffled by the truth but he was more confused every time Eli was next to him. He had a peachy complexion that proved his liveliness in contrast to the pallid look of his nightmares.

His nights had been a real torment since his return. One could imagine the confusion of a person who had just lost his memory, but in this case, it was more like the world had forgotten and you were the only person on earth who was aware of it. Could Aesop even be sure that this was not a dream? There were the words of the druid, but could he believe someone who was only famous for rumors and sayings? What if it was all just a thick mirage that had seemed like an eternity in the short time he'd been 'passed out'.

"Aesop, I think you better take your leave." Jose said.

The blond dropped his spoon abruptly at these words, the object coming to drown in the soup in his bowl.

"Excuse me..."

The commander frowned as he watched the young knight get up from the trunk that served as their bench, his legs wobbling. It made him very sorry to see him in such a miserable state, and even more so knowing there was nothing he could do about it. Aesop hadn't seemed to be feeling well since he'd returned with Eli. The dark-haired man had informed him that they had met the druid but that he wouldn't reveal anything unless Aesop did and he made it clear that he wouldn't change his mind. Jose sighed as he bit into his loaf of bread, understanding these young men was harder than waving his sword.

"I'll go check on him," Eli added as he hurriedly got up to follow Aesop.

Was it some sort of strange gift he possessed but the young Knight of the Rose always managed to disappear from sight without anyone noticing. Eli looked around the camp but couldn't find him as he had left shortly after the latter. Where could he be?

He chuckled bitterly.

This situation reminded him of their first meeting. Just as now, he was also trying to talk to him, although the fish in the lake was probably not the right way to start a conversation. Now that he thought about it, wasn't there a lake near the camp? He would lose nothing by checking it out.

Meanwhile, Aesop was crouching at the water's edge, arms crossed over his knees, watching his reflection blurred by the fishes creating thin waves on the surface. He had dark circles under his eyes and looked so ghoulish that one would almost associate him with death. It was pathetic. The expedition was important for the protection of the kingdom and he was delaying the whole long and expensive process because of this nightmare.

"Ah, there you are!"

Aesop gasped at the sound of the familiar voice and he could almost feel his blood run cold. He hugged his legs closer to his chest, not daring to meet Eli's eyes.

He heard Eli's footsteps coming closer to him but did not move. The blue-eyed male looked at him briefly before sitting down next to him without saying anything, legs crossed.

Neither of them spoke and the atmosphere was rather heavy.

Eli wanted to question Aesop but he was afraid of the weight of his words upon doing so. Even though the blond tried to hide it, Eli had noticed that he looked more tense in his presence than with the others. His eyes fled from him and he never turned to him nor did he stay alone with him unless someone else was also there. He could only doubt that something had happened between them in the 'future'.
