I waited until evening with Malcolm and the apes for Caesar to appear. It's already been two hours and I'm afraid for him. My eyes slowly betrayed me and tried to close, but I didn't let them. I wanted to endure staying awake for Caesar. After a few minutes, the soldier and the gorilla brought Caesar to his cage, which was on the opposite side of ours. When they left I got as close as possible to the bars and caught them.
''Caesar! Are you okey? Did they do something to you?'' I asked worriedly.
"They...didn't. His...name...is..... Colonel,'' he replied and Malcolm looked at him.
"You talked to him?" He asked Caesar.
''Yes, Malcolm, please....look...after....Will,'' he said and I almost got emotional.
Why did he say that? Am I in trouble? I went back and lay down on the cold floor.
"I love you Caesar," I said before falling asleep.
''I....love...you....too....Will," he replied.
I woke up to the voices of some soldiers. I didn't get up, I just leaned to the other side. They were probably doing some morning training. After a few minutes, I gave up on sleeping because once I'm woken up, I can't go back to sleep. I brushed the snow off my uniform and looked at them. I got up, turned to the other side so that I was not looking at the soldiers and leaned against the bars. I sighed and looked around. After a few minutes of watching and breathing in that cold air, someone came, catching the attention of some, but not me. I could see a large shadow so I turned around. I could immediately think that it was a gorilla to my cage. When I turned around I saw a soldier, a gorilla and a Colonel? If that's him.
I got scared just looking at his serious face. Then the soldier unlocked the cage and opened it. Then the Colonel entered the cage while the soldier pointed his rifle at me as if I was going to hurt him. He looked at me from head to toe for a few seconds making me uncomfortable. Then he got out of the cage and looked at his soldier.
"Take him," he said, and the soldier came to me and took my hand while holding the rifle with the other.
"Let...him...go! I'm....here!'' Caesar shouted but the Colonel ignored him.
Caesar started hitting the bars because he was angry. While I didn't even dare to move from his grip, because if I did then the gorilla would surely hit me. They brought me to a warm room with a fireplace. I immediately sighed in relief as I felt the warmth. Fortunately, I wasn't in chains. Probably because they didn't consider me that dangerous, but who knows. After a few minutes, the Colonel came and turned to us.
"Leave," he said to the soldier and the gorilla, but the soldier looked at him strangely.
"Are you sure sir?" He asked and he nodded.
When the soldier and the gorilla left the room, I felt somewhat relieved because they were not immediately next to me. For now there was an awkward silence between me and him. I didn't know what to say to him or how to start a conversation.
''What's your name?'' He asked, receiving one figure that was on the map on the table.
"Will Rodman," I replied.
Then he turned and walked to me.
''What a beautiful name for a beautiful boy, who would have thought,'' he said and now I was 100% sure that I was uncomfortable. What does he want from me?
''You are the Colonel?" I asked.
"Oh, so you've heard of me," he replied.
"Caesar told me," I said.
"Since you mentioned him, I have a question. Are you in a relationship?'' He asked me and I looked at him palely.
"So it's true. A man and a ape in love?'' He asked and I got angry thinking he was mocking us but I kept my anger inside.
"Yes, it's true. It has nothing to do with you,'' I replied and he looked at me sharply.
"Will, you are in my territory and here you will do what I order, is that clear?" He asked me, coming very close to me.
"Y-yes," I said, stuttering a little.
"Great, then we agreed. You know the conversation with Caesar was nothing special, but with you. I have to admit that he is a ape, an intelligent ape, but for a man he is nothing,'' he said.
"Why are you doing this to them?" I asked, remembering how desperate the apes in the cages looked.
"I told Caesar and I will tell you, if it wasn't for me this would have become a planet of apes, there would be no more human species, do you want that?" he asked me.
"No but this is not the way," I replied.
''Interesting," he said and looked out the window.
"What exactly do you want?" I asked him, looking for an immediate answer.
"As I told you, a planet where the human species rules over the animal species but..." he stopped and came to me.
He ran his fingers through my hair and I pulled away from him.
"If you're willing, I can release the apes in a different way," he finished, and now I seemed too disgusting.
So that's what he wants from me. Then he got serious and put his arm around my shoulder pulling me closer to him.
"It's all on you Will," he said, whispering seductively in my ear.
''Stop!" I said pushing him away from me.
He looked at me angrily and started walking towards me, who started walking backwards out of fear. When I felt the wall behind me I knew I couldn't go any further.
"What did you say?" He asked me angrily, probably not wanting an answer.
"I said--," I couldn't finish the sentence because he slapped me.
I almost fell but he picked me up.
"You are not in a position to say anything, you will do or say whatever I tell you. And I tell you that you will come here again tomorrow,'' he said, and I didn't dare to say anything after that.
I just held my hand where he slapped me.
"Take him back," he ordered.
When we left the factory I was still holding my face because he slapped me pretty hard. Malcolm and Caesar looked at me worriedly as they placed me in the cage.
