Catherine had stayed awake on purpose, this was the day, or shall we say night, they were running away. She would finally be free with the true love of her life. Hyeon. After nearly twenty years she was parting from Arthur. She left her ring on her pillow and took a last glance at her husband. He would always be her husband, she had no power to change that, un

She quietly left the room and woke up Hyeon and Ajax. The carriage had been called for. A pirate disguised as a guard waited for them at the front of the entrance. All they needed to do was get the 4 chests of treasure into it and then the boat was ready to sail.

After half an hour of lifting and getting treasure, they were finally done. It was so much treasure. They could live in another castle if they wanted, a smaller one that is.

The empress had almost forgotten the letters she had written to both Arthur and her sister. She went to get them and put the letter on her pillow underneath the ring. It was quite a gloomy letter, but oh well.

Now you might be confused as to why my ring and a letter are laying on my pillow, well this letter is my explanation. I will tell you exactly what I have done.

I dismissed the two siblings from their work, afraid of how they would react to what I will do and have done by the time you read this. A carriage was sent to the cliff you have told me to stay away from multiple times, I will look upon the deep dark water and I will fall, it will be willingly. I have been nothing, but a good wife for you in these 18 years yet I feel as if you did not care for me. Your questionable laws and demands had formed a resistance that wishes to harm us, you strangled me to near death, you got a concubine, and the worst of them all. You killed two of my maids. You went too far and you broke me. By the time you read this, I am long gone. My body is floating in the deep sea where no man will find me. I left my coat where I fell, it was not needed at the place I was going.

She left the room in a hurry and put the letter to her sister under the door for the letter boy to see. She trusted him enough not to look at it, he would never do such a thing especially not when the letters were from the empress or emperor.

The letter said:

Dear sister.

Times have been incredibly rough and difficult which is why I no longer will be empress. I do not know if the news will reach you first, but yes there will be news that I am dead. Cry not sister for I am not.

I trust you not to tell anyone. My death is not my real death, it is all trickery that I thought out well. I have decided to live my life the way I wish, with my beloved Hyeon. We will live in her homeland and we will grow a family there.

I understand you might be confused, but I am bearing her child, I believe our child was conceived the first or second time we made love which was when we stayed in your home. Apologies for that information, but I thought you might want to know how far along I am. And for your other question I am sure you have, she does in fact have the parts to conceive with a woman, no she is not a man she was born that way and that is why a baby is growing inside me. 

I have been lied to for years, the doctor told me I was infertile, but look at me now. I suspect Arthur to be the infertile one which means he will not have an heir to the throne. I am glad I am not there to see the outcome of that, I would have fallen with him.

I do hope one day we will meet again, perhaps I have a child on my own when that time comes, but right now the chances are slim. I love you dear sister and I will try to come to you once again sometime. You have always been good to me.
