The next morning, Maia walked into All Valley and past the lines and lines of sign-ups. She smiled to herself, anticipating a few good fights.

"Maia." Someone spoke, and she stopped in her tracks. She turned to find her father and the Cobra Kai kids in the lines.

"Hey." She said. "I see you got us in."

"You, you signing up?" He asked.

"No. Actually, I wanted to tell you that I... I'm quitting." She shrugged. "I'm sorry but I think it'd be best if I just stay away for a little bit. From the dojo, from Cobra Kai-"

"From me?"

"It's not you that's the problem."

"So what, you came down here to tell me that?"

"No. I'm not here for you."

"Then-"

"You'll see." As she was about to walk away, she caught a glimpse of Miguel and Eli, both with guilt-ridden faces. "Boys." She nodded, finally walking away.

-----

Maia was particularly nervous for her brother. When he walked out there were shocked faces all around. Her father. Mr LaRusso. Miguel, who looked more angry than surprised, really. Maia just smiled from up in the stands. She sat beside Mr LaRusso, mostly with Sam. It wasn't long before the semi-finals. It was Miguel vs Stone, and 'Hawk' vs Robby. Of course, Miguel won with ease. But Maia held her breath when it came to the next fight.

"He's not focused." Daniel noticed. "Maia, talk to him."

"Wha- me?"

"I once told him he needed to balance out the bad stuff with the good, and he told me that you were the only good thing he had." She thought for a moment, before getting to her feet.

"Focus, Robby!" He looked to her for a moment, smiling. "You can do this." She nodded, and he turned back to the fight. It was all going so smoothly, until Robby scored his first point and turned to go back to his starting point. Eli decided to kick him hard from behind, and Robby went down. "Oh my god." Maia ran onto the mat, rushing to her brother, as did Daniel. "Are you okay?"

"Fine, I jus-"

"Robby, if your not fine, your not fine." Daniel said, getting him to his feet. "Can we have a time out?" He asked the ref, who granted his request. Eli was ultimately disqualified, and Maia caught his eye as she followed Robby away.

The medic simply popped Robbys shoulder back into place, placing an ice pack on it.

"You're probably gonna feel that for the next few weeks." The medic said, before leaving the room.

"Robby, you don't have to go on like this." Maia said. "You've already come so far, and I am so proud of you."

"You and me both." Daniel smiled. "Listen, I'm sorry about my outburst yesterday, I shouldn't've taken it our of you."

"It's okay, Mr LaRusso." Robby nodded. "I should've told you."

"It shouldn't matter."

"Can I just say, Mr LaRusso..." Maia began. "I feel like I should've said this sooner but, thank you. You've helped my brother get his life on track and that's something I've been trying to do for sixteen years. I'm so grateful that you've turned him into the boy I know has always been in there."

"You just gotta know what you're looking for, I suppose."

"I need to go back out there." Robby said confidently. "I have to finish what I started."

"Hey, just know that no matter what the outcome today, you're a winner in my book."

-----

Both Daniel and Maia stood 'court-side' while Robby and Miguel entered the finals together. The match was moving fast, and Miguel was clearly exploiting Robby's injured shoulder. Over and over again. And of course, that lead him to the win. Everyone cheered for him, while Daniel went to comfort Robby. Maia, however, headed for some fresh air. She wasn't sure what to do with herself. How could they allowan illegal move like that. Surely they'd follow up on it. Surely.
