"Maia!"
"Alright!" She huffed, patting her face dry with a towel. She pushed open the door, finding her brother giving her a look. "What?"
"Do you know what time it is, Mai?"
"Like you care." She hissed. "We both know you're skipping again, huh, Robby." He rolled his eyes at her, as she pulled on her jacket.
"Don't be like that-"
"Prove me wrong then, go to school." She said, folding her arms across her chest.
"Maia-"
"Save it." She pulled her bag over her shoulder, swiping up her keys and storming out of the apartment. He knew he probably shouldn't follow her, but he didn't wanna leave her alone. He wasn't exactly the most popular kid in school, and he was often afraid that would reflect on her. All he ever wanted to do was protect her, and that was becoming more and more difficult as they got older. After all, they practically raised themselves. Raised each other. Mom was barely ever around anymore, and the whole apartment seemed to be crumbling around them. Their father wasn't ever around regardless. Robbie only wished she'd part with that necklace he'd given her all of those years ago. All they could do, really, was get on with their lives like that wasn't crumbling too.
