And just then I got a friend request on discord.

I had just clicked accept when my father knocked on my door. "Come in" I said, loud enough so he could hear. I could tell by the look on his face that whatever he had to tell me was serious, so I closed Minecraft and walked to my bed where he sat down next to me.

"Your father and I had a chat. We decided that it would be better if we moved, I have been given a promotion but the job is in another city. We agreed it would be easier if we moved there.

'Oh ok, I'm proud that you got the promotion dad and the move is a shame, but I don't mind it so much now, so it's not that bad. Where exatly are we moving to, if you don't mind me asking? ,

"Thank you, sweetheart. We were planning to go to Portland, Oregon."

I nodded and he walked back out of my room.

I started to put the things I didn't really need in boxes and toss out the things I didn't need anymore. Then I started to tear down my room decoration and put it in boxes too.

After I did that I opened my phone and went to discord. There I saw that Caiti had messaged me.

*a week later*

I just put all of my stuff in the car and now I'm just looking around the house again to see if I have everything.

Turns out I almost forgot my sunglasses, because they were somewhere in the back of a cupboard in the bathroom. I went back downstairs to the car and got in.

My fathers were still inside, also checking. Meanwhile I put on my headphones and sent a text to Caiti, I told her I was moving and so we excanged numbers, because that was easier than Discord.
