"EMMY!" I squeal, slapping her arm over and over, "What it's true!" she defends.

"Matt Sturniolo?! Seriously?! Out of all guys you choose to like you pick him?!" I ask, "What? He's funny and kind of cute." she shrugs, "Gross." I shudder, shivering.

"Oh come on Aria, you can't tell me you've looked at him and didn't think he was cute." she points out, "No because he's not." I reply.

"But he is!" she argues, "Honestly how are we friends, we're like polar opposites." I laugh, "Opposites attract I guess." she shrugs.

"Hey um, Aria can I talk to you alone real quick?" A male voice says from behind me. I turn to see Leo.

"Oh hey Leo, what's up?" I ask as Emmy walks away, giving me and Leo our privacy.

"Look, I know you don't like me back, but I need to get this off of my chest. I really like you like a lot and would really like to take you on a date sometime, like, you know?" he chuckles nervously.

I had just began to find a slight attraction to this girl, Indigo, we don't even know each other but she's really pretty, but I'm straight and even if I was bi, Mom wouldn't like that and I don't think Dad would either. Lately, ever since I started 8th grade, me and Papa have been off. More arguments and less frequent talks and I miss him to say the least.

But Leo was cute, or at least I thought he was in the 2nd grade when crushes weren't even considered crushes.

"Yeah Leo, I'd love to go on a date sometime." I smile brightly, "You sure?" he asks with hope in his eyes, "Yes I'm sure Leo. Here's my number, you can contact me there." I say, writing down my number and giving it to him with a wink.

"I'll talk to you later Leo." I smile before walking away.

I had been too busy smiling down at my feet that I hadn't even seen the figure in front of me until I bumped into him.

"Oh I'm so-"

"Watch where ya goin'" Matt says, "Whatever Sturniolo." I roll my eyes as we both keep walking our own ways.

It was now after school and Leo had agreed to come home with me which lead to both of us walking to my room.

Mom had been out shopping for groceries, which I knew wouldn't consist of dino nuggies or kid cuisines, only salads and veggies.

"NO BABIES!" Papa calls after us, "Every time I bring a friend over he always says that." I mutter to Leo as I shut my door.

"I don't think he means any harm by it." Leo shrugs as we both sit on my bed, "He doesn't, it just gets annoying sometimes." I reply.

"So do you just see me as your friend, cause you said friend so am I just a friend to you?" he asks, "Look Leo, I'm not really one to have boyfriends, they never work out with me. But I really like you, more than a friend and I won't be afraid to try something new with you. I just don't want it to not work out you know?" I answer.

"Yeah, I get that." he replies awkwardly and nervously.

"But I do like you too." I state, "I just feel like you're just saying that so I won't get hurt." he replies.

I lean foreword and kiss his cheek softly.

"I mean it." I whisper.

KIERA SPEAKS: just a little filler flashback bc i think leo will be back in the picture and i thought it would be just SO fun to make a little no babies chapter just for the sake of little old papa being DEAD also me madden and my friend leah were supposed to ft after he got out of his shower but we didn't and yeah whatever apparently him and rose were on a date but he didn't consider it a date but he also invited his friend griffen over and he also wanted to invite katie (one of his crushes) over too oh and a girl named taylor and so yeah also a friend of rose's ex bf is mutals w me on insta now so that's fun rose thinks athen likes her even tho he literally told me and her that he likes me and yeah :)
