Lincoln came over ten minutes after I called him and stayed the whole night. We hadn't slept over at each others house in quite a while so I kinda missed it. I'm just sad it was under these circumstances.
We were now laying in my bed watching a movie, but I was far from focused. As much as I hate to admit it, I've been thinking about what Valentino said since I left his car.
Mistake.
I was tired of crying so I got up and went to take a hot shower to wash all my thoughts away.
Did I end up crying in the shower? Maybe.
I brushed my teeth and just threw on some comfy sweats and a graphic tee before going back to my bed.
Lincoln was now awake and standing up.
"Why were you crying?" He asked looking at me with a bit of sadness in his eyes.
Because I kinda sorta fucked my dad's best friend and he called it a mistake afterwards, but I thought it was one of the best moments in my life. Nothing serious.
"I wasn't. You probably just heard wrong." I felt terrible lying to him.
We told each other everything, but I knew he would absolutely lose his mind if I told him.
"Don't lie Addy." He said now waiting on me to tell the truth.
Shit.
"It's nothing Linc. Just some stupid guy."
Technically I wasn't lying.
Before he could even ask anything else, I told him that I didn't wanna talk about it right now which he respected.
"You wanna go get ice cream?"
I smiled at Lincoln's attempt to cheer me up and agreed.
~~~
Lincoln and I spent the whole day together before he had to go home and we caught up on everything.
Well not everything... but what he doesn't know won't hurt him.
I was now in the bathroom tying my hair up when I noticed a big red bruise on the side of my neck.
Of course he left a hickey the size of fucking Jupiter.
I rolled my eyes and walked out of my bathroom, heading downstairs where my parents were.
"Hey sweetie I was gonna order in. Do you want anything?" My mom asked as she saw me come down the stairs.
"Yeah some chinese would be nice."
I made sure my hair was covering my neck as I walked over to my dad who was sitting on the couch.
"Do you guys have everything planned for the gala Saturday?" I said trying to make conversation.
"Yeah honey we just decided to hire a decorator and get it over with." My dad replied taking a sip from his glass of whiskey.
"We wouldn't have to if you did one simple task." I heard my mom grumble with annoyance.
This is why we don't get along.
"I probably wouldn't of been able to buy enough decorations to decorate the place anyway. What's your deal?" I snapped back matching her tone.
"Laura just leave it alone." My dad said to my mom trying to defend me.
He always hated when we fought but she was always the one starting some stupid shit.
"No Roman! We asked her to do one thing and she couldn't even do that." She responded now slamming her hands on the counter.
I guess we're getting loud now.
I stood up and walked over to the stairs before stopping.
"I don't know what you're problem is, but if you want handpicked decorations buy them your fucking self." I jogged back to my room ignoring the calls from my parents telling me to watch my mouth and apologize.
Don't get me wrong, I love my mother but sometimes she acts like I'm more of a burden than her daughter. She's been this way since dad had a heart attack three years ago. It's like she put up this wall and uses her bitchy attitude as a defense mechanism.
She acts like I didn't almost lose him too.
I slammed my door and wrapped myself in the covers pulling out my headphones.
Before I could press play on spotify, I got a notification signaling that I had a message.
Dad's hot friend:
Adelaine
Answer the phone.
We need to talk.
I'm sorry bambina.I opened the chat and started to type out a message. Then everything he said came rushing back like a flood.
Mistake.
Shouldn't of happened.I deleted what I just typed out and played my music for about an hour before I fell asleep.
