*Present Day*
Wake up, wake up, wake up

I sit straight up on my mattress. My blood rushed every inch of my body by how quickly I changed positions. Feeling too warm to the point I'm drenching in a puddle of sweat.

Forced me to inhale and exhale every air like my last.
Concentrating on my heartbeat, copying the rhythm with my breathing.

As I reach for the remote, the room is hushed in anticipation. With a click, the TV springs to life, bathing the space in a soft glow. The screen dances with vibrant colors, and the gentle hum of the electronics fills the air. As the light from the TV brightens the room, shadows retreat, revealing the details of my surroundings in a cinematic display.

Angle my head in the direction of the window. Still, nothing. No light or ray. Just a dark sky with millions of stars above. Admiring for a few minutes until laying back down. Closing my eyes... memories are filling my mind but one remembering sent me off into the light.

*Flashback*
Felt the chilly breeze passing between us. I moved my body swiftly next to her to catch sight of her body heat beside me on this freezing night at the park. Laying down in this peaceful place.

Notice in the corner of my eyes that she turned her head to face me.

"(Y/N), how many stars do you believe that's up there?"

"Hm... more than one. I can tell you that."

"No shit Sherlock!"

Seeing her face become serious. Marvel every piece of her face until her lip puts together a smile. Causing us to burst into laughter. She pushes my shoulder. Pulling her closer to me. When the laughter dies down, witness how close we are. Felt the heat of her breath. Move our foreheads so they can touch each other.

"Are we counting the stars up above us or the one on this Earth?"

"What do you mean the one on this Earth?"

"Stars are a symbol of hope. The light leads us."

"(Y/N), do you think I can make it happen like one of my dreams?"

"Yes, like one of your dreams to become an actress?"

"(Y/N)... um... yeah that dream..."

"Are you okay? Did I get your dream wrong?"

"I'm okay, just thinking. Also, no that is one of my dreams."

I know her eyes are telling me something differently. But I don't want to push her into what it is.

*Present Day*
Thump, thump, thump

Waking up, my heart echoes the lingering rhythms from that memory. My heart cradles the delicate traces of a connection woven within the fabric of slumber. The ethereal threads of the night's reverie leave an imprint, a tender echo that transcends the waking world yet resonates in the quiet moments of consciousness.

"I do hate you. I love myself more."

Making me pay full attention to the television. That voice I know and love so much. Seeing her on the screen. The way her presence is so captivating. Her striking features, adorned with an air of elegance, draw you in effortlessly. As she immerses herself into her roles, her acting prowess shines through, seamlessly bringing characters to life. A combination of poise and skill makes watching her a delightful journey through the narratives she unfolds on the screen.

You, Katherine Elizabeth McGrath, are a star. I knew that dream was going to become reality.

I see her for the last time before the commercial starts.

What was that dream you kept from me?
