Waking up to the sound of my alarm, the day began in the usual rush. The routine of getting ready for work felt like second nature, but today held a surprise. A notification from Melissa brightened my morning, mentioning she bought cookies for the start of our last season of Supergirl.
Melissa: Katie, made some homemade chocolate chip cookies for our last season!! Can't wait to see you today for filming 😊
Katie: Can't wait for those delicious cookies! See you soon
Exiting out of Melissa chat. I noticed me and (Y/N) chat. I hovered my thumb over our chat before touching the screen. Only to notice all my messages with (Y/N). Curiosity kicked in, and I found myself rereading them again.
The memory of my last message lingered – expressing (Y/N)'s desire for time together, feeling overshadowed by my busy life during the end of Supergirl Season 5.
Katie: I have to get my scenes done... Don't take it personal
(Y/N): Okay
Katie: I'm sorry
But (Y/N) left me on read, leaving a lingering unease as I navigated out of our chat together before heading off to work.
