~Chapter Twenty Two~

Shawn's POV~

After we ate and threw our stuff away we walked out to the parking lot and stood there for a second and took in the fresh air, it was really nice out, not to cold but not too too hot. I pulled out my phone and checked the time. It was 4:25. "Can I show you something?" I blurted.

She looked up at me, "Of course, can we walk or do we need my car?"

"We can walk it's not far and it's nice out." I answer taking her hand and we start to walk.

Gloria's POV~
Shawn and I walk with our hands intertwined down the side until we get to Green Hallow a state park? Shawn turns to me, "I know this isn't very exciting but follow me and what I tell you close your eyes and trust me."

"Okay?" It came out as more of a question but I do as told anyway. I was a little nervous so I slipped my hand back into his.

After walking a couple more minutes in silence he spoke, "Now close your eyes." I do so and follow him up a hill?

When we finally come to a stop and we both let out a breath he speaks, "Ok open your eyes."

"Sh-Shawn it's beautiful." I say not knowing what els to say because I was astonished.

We were at the top of a giant hill and down beneath us was green life and above us clouds so big they look like giant floating marshmallows.

We sat down on the top of the hill and I noticed that just about every seven minutes or so a plane would fly above us and disappear into the clouds.

"There are so many planes." I say lightly looking up. He was about to say something when I began to talk again, "I love it." I say as a tear slips from my eye.

"Are you ok?" Shawn voice interrupts my thoughts. I look at him as another hot tear slides down my cheek.

"Yea, it's just." I pause a moment. "I haven an older brother and he's in the Air Force." I start to cry a little harder. "And I haven't seen him in 8 months because he's been deployed to Iran." I say looking down and wiping the tears off my face. "The planes just remind me of him so much." I say
