The sound of wind and sea fills Jaune's ears, slowly waking him up.

"Ahh..." He groaned as he tries to stand up but failed.

So he just push himself into a sitting position and open his eyes but the light blinding him. Slowly his eyes adjusted to see he was at a beach, but it's not a normal beach. The sky and water were yellow and the sun was white, while there were a big seashell and starfish in the sand. He turn around to see a giant tree in distance.

"Where am I?" He asked himself. "How do I get here?"

He sit there for a second to remember how he get there. He suddenly felt a headache as his memories rushing back to his mind.

He crying and holding a sword covered with blood as Penny's dead body lying in front of him.

His sword get broken in two by Cinder.

Winter fight Cinder

Weiss fall down to the abyss.

He jump to the portal but failed as he fall down to the abyss too.

"Penny! Weiss!" He stand up but immediately fall to his knee.

A cocktail of negative emotions seemed to rush through him in an instant as his body become cold in sudden realization. He had taken someone life, and it is not just enemies life or someone life, but his friend life.

"Oh Oum, I killed Penny." The thought itself make him to want vomit. He see the Croceo Mors on his waist. On instinct he grab it and throw it away like it's just burn him. The sword landed quietly on the sand near the water but not close enough for the sea swept it away. He just look the sword in front of him silently with sorrowful expression, the sword use by his ancestors to protect the innocent and give hope in them, now it's just a broken sword that use to kill his friend.

He gripped his hand until it was white. Even though Penny asked him to do it, he still was the one who took her life. Running his sword through her and end her. The Image of small girl with silver eyes flashed in his mind.

How should he tell Ruby the news. She already lost Pyrrha and Penny before, and she was so happy she found out that Penny is still alive, but now she lost her again, she will be crushed forever.

He can see Ruby crying and hurt expression in his mind. The image alone make his stomach twist.

He gritted his teeth as he raised his right fist, it shine with white aura, and slam it down to the ground, sand erupt from the sheer force alone.

"Dammit!" He shouted out as he keep slamming the ground with his hands, every hit filled with aura and anger, anger to himself. He stopped and breath heavily, sand slowly fall down as a tear suddenly land at his trembling hand.

"Dammit... it's like the fall of Beacon all over again..." He whisper to himself as more and more tears fall to the sand.

"I'm still just a weak and useless lovable idiot, stuck in the tree while his friends fight for their lives... I can't do anything beside let the people I care die... I'm a fool and faker that get in Beacon with false transcript..." His eyes began to lose their color as he feel his guilt weigh him down. His mind become hazy from all the self-hatred and grief, shadow mist suddenly appeared around him, tried to covered him.

Why did he keep going. The mist envelop his legs.

Why he keep making mistakes. The mist envelop his arms.

Why he so weak. The mist envelop hid body.

Why he keep losing his friends. The mist creep up to his neck
