Lyla's POV
"Ok let me get this straight," Marissa's pacing again. She always paces when she thinks, that's why she's always in trouble in class. "He just broke up with you for no reason? Over the PHONE?"
"Yeah pretty much. He just said we should break up, that us being apart from each other wasn't working." She curls up her fist and starts mumbling.
"Why I outta beat that boy! He-break-you-UGH!" I get up and grab her shoulders.
"Marissa, chill pill, take one!" She starts breathing and we both fall on the bed.
"How can you not care? Your boyfriend just broke up with you!" I feel my eyes staring to tear up again.
"I do care. But I don't want to show it, I need to be the strong one. I need to be made of steel! I need to be unbreakable!" She rubs my back.
"But you can't be, you know why?" I shake my head. "Because you're human." I smile at her.
"Thanks for being there when I need you."
"That's what friends are for. This is getting depressing, let's get some ice cream and watch a movie. How about your favorite, American Tundra?" I smile again.
"Yeah. Yeah let's do it. Anything to take my mind off of Peter." We get up and go downstairs. I need to get him out of my mind, the only issue is that I can't.

Peter's POV
I can't believe I broke up with Lyla, I love her. What's done is done. She hates me but I can't change that. I'm so stupid! I just threw away a relationship with the best girl ever! I don't know what to do, suddenly my phone starts going off. I look down, a random number.
"Hello?"
"Hi, is this Peter Musgraves?" It's a girl.
"Yes. Who am I talking to?"
"It's Grace, Grace Frederickson. I'm in your Spanish class." I know her, she sits right behind me. Blond hair, soft voice, dark eyes. An attractive girl I must admit, but I don't know her. "I know we don't know each other, but I was kind of hoping you would let me get to know you?"
"I mean sure, we can hang out sometime. What are you doing this weekend?"
"Nothing."
"Want to go to the ice cream shop? We can get to know each other."
"Sure sounds like fun!I have to go, see you this weekend."
"See ya." After hanging up I realize what I just did. I just broke up with Lyla AND asked out Grace, what's wrong with me?
